The Office of Financial Aid assists the University of Maine at Machias students and families finance their education. By administering federal, state, and University aid programs, our goal is to make financing students' education as straightforward as possible while providing the tools and resources necessary to become financially successful.
Academic advising helps students access the many tools and supports available to discover the path to academic success. We empower students as they develop into successful independent learners. We focus on each student's goals and needs as they find out the interconnectedness of their academic programs, community experience, and the natural environment's richness.
The Advising Center is UMM's comprehensive one-stop-shop. We are here to help students starting at the moment of their acceptance to University right up through graduation. We host events and provide support to help as students transition to UMM. Once students arrive, we are there to provide academic support and strategies to help students become successful.
Another vital role that the Advising Center plays on campus is to serve as Student Success Advisors, providing academic advising on topics ranging from class registration to study skills. An excellent general rule is that if you need help and aren't sure where to go, your first step is to visit the Advising Center or contact your Student Success Advisor. If we don't know the answer, we will undoubtedly be willing to work with you to find it.
Each year, the Career Services Office invites graduates from the past year to complete a Graduate Placement Survey, where graduates have the opportunity to indicate whether they are working in their chosen field of study, whether they are working in or out-of-state, their employer and job title.
The mission of the University of Maine at Machias Health Services is to promote, maintain, and improve the health and well being of the UMM community. The Health Center provides students with confidential clinical services and health promotion in a caring, cost-effective, and convenient manner. Health Services strive to enhance and support a healthy community, thereby strengthening student and employee success.
