Randolph-Macon is a private, coeducational liberal arts and sciences college located 15 minutes north of Richmond in the scenic town of Ashland, Virginia.
R-MC enrolls over 1,400 undergraduate students who pursue their academic paths in 54 areas of study (including majors, minors, pre-professional programs, and other areas).
Randolph-Macon has a longstanding reputation for giving our students an "edge." R-MC integrates an outstanding liberal arts education and success strategies taught by extraordinary faculty mentors with a four-year career preparation program called The Edge. In concert with our faculty, dedicated staff in The Edge Career Center work with students to develop a personalized Career Roadmap that provides them with a competitive advantage with their careers and when applying to graduate school.
The mission of Randolph-Macon College—to develop the mind and the character of its students—underlies the College's ultimate purpose: to prepare undergraduates for successful lives.
R-MC offers more than 50 areas of study, including majors, minors, and pre-professional programs. At R-MC, you'll find a curriculum that strengthens your critical-thinking and communication skills while it encourages you to explore a broad range of academic subjects. And you'll find supportive, engaged faculty ready to provide guidance and mentoring to help you succeed in the classroom and beyond.
The Higgins Academic Center (The HAC) offers resources and programming to help Randolph-Macon's students feel they want to do better academically. We are located on the first floor of the McGraw-Page Library in the Center of campus. Support is available in all areas of instruction and writing, speaking, and general academic skills.
Students with disabilities are also provided accommodations through the Office of Disability Services, located in The HAC. Tutoring and mentoring services are offered to promote academic excellence and provide individualized academic support to all students.
In an ever more interconnected and interdependent world, the OIE facilitates connections between R-MC and the global community. Whether you want to venture far from home or explore opportunities for global learning here at R-MC, the Office of International Education will help you learn, grow, and challenge yourself in new ways.
Today, more than ever, the OIE remains committed to education abroad. We believe that learning to navigate another culture prepares our students for success and, at the same time, promotes global understanding. We also acknowledge that students and their loved ones may experience some anxiety in light of world events. The OIE encourages students and families to take advantage of the information found on the Resources for Travelers page to do everything they can to ensure their safety and security as they study abroad.

The Center for Counseling Services strives to foster the holistic development of students in the Randolph-Macon community.
The Center seeks to bridge the theoretical world of academics and the psycho-social life of students beyond the classroom. Through the therapeutic process, students are helped clarify their values, interests, and life goals as they concurrently work to increase their self-determination, goal directness, and independent functioning. The Center endeavors to promote the development of the whole, mature student while supporting the mission of the College.
The Edge at Randolph-Macon, a four-year career preparation program housed within The Edge Career Center, provides students with professional skills, internship opportunities, and connections to a global alumni network. Alumni have a proud history of giving back to R-MC so that new students of all financial backgrounds can afford the Randolph-Macon experience. As a result, the College offers numerous financial aid options to students, including scholarships.
Athletics have always been an integral part of R-MC life. The College still participates in the oldest football rivalry in the south. Every year "the game" pitting Randolph-Macon against Hampden-Sydney draws hundreds of fans. This commitment to athletics continues with R-MC as a proud member of the NCAA Division III and Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The College sponsors 17 intercollegiate sports, and many of our teams are nationally ranked and have won national championships.
True to its sociability and public service traditions, the College maintains a healthy Greek Life system and provides dozens of student organizations from which to choose. Most students are actively engaged in community service and outreach programs. Collectively, Yellow Jackets have raised thousands of dollars for local and national organizations.
