Founded more than 165 years ago, we are the third oldest college in California. NDNU is a fully accredited, private, Catholic, co-educational master's University, located on the San Francisco Peninsula in Silicon Valley.
With approximately 1,700 students from 29 states and 32 different countries, NDNU broadens its students' perspective and outlook by exposing them to peers with very different backgrounds, cultures, and world views.
At NDNU, smaller class sizes, ranging from 12 to 25, means that students receive personal attention from excellent instructors in challenging courses covering a wide range of academic programs. Our professors do not just teach. They are committed to helping advise and mentor you through your college journey. Our location offers learning opportunities and internships that cannot be found anywhere else. NDNU also has two extension locations with partner colleges and recently added online graduate programs.
NDNU strives for excellence in academics and challenges its students to be extraordinary forces for change in the community. This is accomplished through various community-based learning programs that redefine the concept of "hands-on" learning and connect students with programs that allow them to make positive contributions to the community.
Our students are active outside of the classroom in more than 30 student organizations spanning academics, ethnic, sports, professional, social, and service groups. Student-athletes participate in 12 NCAA Division II sports, and students in visual and performing arts present a varied calendar of events throughout the year.

Studying abroad is a life-changing experience. It inspires new perspectives on education, careers, cultures, and human relationships. Studying abroad helps you understand world issues, learn a foreign language, and experience other cultures first hand.
Students at NDNU may also study off-campus for a semester or year at one of its sister colleges, Trinity College in Washington, D.C., or Emmanuel College in Boston. Students participating in these programs can transfer credits and financial aid and not file for an official leave of absence. Students also have the opportunity to attend the Washington Semester Program. The University has an institutional agreement to nominate students each year to participate in this program through American University in Washington, D.C.
NDNU faculty also organize programs for students abroad. Students can receive credit for participating in trips and service projects. In recent years, trips to Italy and a Guadalajara project, Mexico, have offered valuable off-campus experiences for students.
The Study Abroad Experience is available to all NDNU students! The University is affiliated with many overseas programs that allow students to select from various summer, semester, and year programs. Students from all majors can receive credit while studying overseas universities in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and South America.
The fees for overseas study are comparable to the cost of on-campus tuition and housing. Frequently, scholarships are available, and financial aid can be transferred. Internships and service-learning experiences are included in many programs. Here are a few of the many possibilities for studying abroad.
Notre Dame de Namur University offers a wide variety of programs for full-time day students just starting college or transferring, adults completing a bachelor's at night, and graduate and credential students. Because we are a smaller, private university, we review, admit, and advise each student individually to ensure you receive the value you deserve from your education and learning experience.
Notre Dame de Namur University enrolls students in four distinct academic divisions: Full-time Day Undergraduate Adult Evening Bachelor's Degree Education Credential Graduate. Each of these divisions had a distinct tuition and fee schedule. To meet the requirements of these distinct tuition amounts, NDNU offers a wide variety of financial aid forms. However, the majority of scholarship and grant opportunities are directed towards the Full-time Day Undergraduate Population.
