Kean is a public university governed by a Board of Trustees and managed by a President duly appointed by the Board.The Board currently consists of 15 members appointed by the Governor of New Jersey and a student trustee representative elected annually by the student body. Under the Higher Education Restructuring Act of 1994, the Board has general supervision and oversight of the University. The President is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University and the implementation of policies established by the Board.
Student Life on campus intends to bring together a community of students through the multitude of clubs and organizations available while providing a means to build leadership skills, include volunteering and community service, and the institution's education. The Center is committed to providing leadership development training opportunities, community service involvement, service learning, campus organizational development, and serves as a connection point for participation in volunteer activities. We develop programming to prepare students to be involved as positive examples of leadership excellence and social consciousness in an involved global community. The Center also assists students in planning and participating in various activities outside of the classroom that complements the academic experience.

The Miron Student Center is the focal point of campus organizations and activities. Besides office space and meeting rooms for many groups, the Miron Student Center offers a Game Room, Food Court, Cougars Den, Smashburger, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Outtakes convenience store the Little Theatre. The Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct, Student Government, and the Center for Leadership and Service are also located in the Miron Student Center. Come and enjoy our facilities.
