Indiana Wesleyan University is a Christ-centered academic community committed to changing the world by developing students in character, scholarship, and leadership.
Indiana Wesleyan University is a truly great Christian university serving the world. The primary value for Indiana Wesleyan University is Christlikeness. The challenge to follow Christ compels us to pursue a personal and professional lifestyle of Commitment, Leadership, Service, Stewardship, Innovation, and Diversity.
Indiana Wesleyan University is a comprehensive Christian university of The Wesleyan Church. The University was founded in 1920 as Marion College and is committed to liberal arts and professional education.
Indiana Wesleyan is the largest member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, the largest private college in Indiana, based on enrollment, and is one of the largest employers in Grant County.
Nearly 3,000 students are enrolled in traditional programs on the University's 350-acre residential campus in Marion. Most buildings on the Marion campus have been built in the past 25 years, so students live and learn in a visually striking environment with well-appointed residence halls and academic facilities, all on a campus that is only an hour away from both Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
IWU offers more than 80 undergraduate degrees, 38 graduate degrees, and five doctorate degrees, and students represent more than 80 Christian denominations and ten foreign countries.
Indiana Wesleyan has received national attention for its innovative adult education program, which began in 1985. Over 10,000 adult learners attend classes at education centers in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and online. Ott Hall of Sciences and Nursing opened in the spring of 2014. The 111,250 square foot health sciences building provides students with expanded state-of-the-art teaching laboratories, research laboratories, and student interaction areas.
Indiana Wesleyan University is an energized community committed to changing the world. We guide students in discovering their purpose and life calling and developing in character, scholarship, and leadership. Scholarship at IWU builds on distinguished academics through high-quality, collaborative work by students and faculty members. Professors offer spiritual and academic mentoring and discipleship, and students flourish from individual attention. IWU's spiritually rich learning environment, academic commitment, and caring instruction develop students' knowledge, skills, and disposition to change the world for Jesus Christ.
Some experiences can't be described with words or even pictures. The best way to catch the spirit and character of Indiana Wesleyan University is to visit our Marion campus or one of our Education Centers and interact with our faculty, staff, and students.
A vision that began to evolve more than 90 years ago has taken full form as today's Indiana Wesleyan University - one of America's fastest-growing and most dynamic Christian colleges. The academic programs of Indiana Wesleyan University are administered by the Principal Academic Units leaders, who report to the Provost. Academic budgets are established in coordination with the Chancellor for IWU-Marion and the Chancellor for IWU-National & Global.
The College of Adult and Professional Studies offers more than 60 undergraduate, graduate degree and certificate programs, with options at dozens of locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and online. CAPS operates on a year-round schedule.
The College of Arts and Sciences provides over 70 undergraduate programs plus graduate programs in counseling at the University's residential campus in Marion, Indiana. CAS operates under a traditional semester-based academic calendar. The School of Health Sciences provides graduate programs in Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, and Public Health.
The School of Nursing provides quality instruction and training to undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Wesley Seminary was established in 2009 as the first seminary of The Wesleyan Church, providing innovative educational opportunities for ministry professionals. The Master of Arts in Ministry, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry programs offer unprecedented access to religious education for working adult students.
All academic programs, undergraduate and graduate, reside in one of the other five Principal Academic Units, so the Graduate School does not have its programs. Instead, the School provides oversight of all graduate education at IWU by establishing policies and standards for graduate education, through strategic planning for graduate education, and through the support of teaching, learning, and scholarship for graduate faculty and graduate students.
Through both triumph and testing, you will be forged into what the Creator intended you to be. Here you can live and grow in a microcosm of the body of Christ and build academic excellence on a foundation of scriptural truth. You will create mentoring relationships with professors and lifelong relationships with peers.
Life at IWU goes beyond getting an education. When you step foot on this campus, you will become a part of an energetic community that includes students from all over the world. Whether it is grabbing a drink from McConn Coffee Company, cheering on the football team, or studying on the lawn, there is always something to be a part of.
Spiritual life permeates every aspect of life on campus. From weekly chapel services to the three-day summit event every semester, we are passionately christ-centered. Some student organizations are associated with specific majors and assist with networking and professional development, while others explore hobbies and passions. Get involved with issues that matter to you. We want to hear your voice.
