The master's programs of Arlington Baptist University were begun to promote further its mission to prepare men and women for Christian life and ministries, both lay and professional. These programs were developed to prepare Christian servants to have an even more significant impact within their areas of service and occupation.
Under the federal law entitled "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act," statistics regarding major crimes "reported" to campus security authorities must be published for three calendar years. A crime is "reported" when brought to the attention of a campus security authority or the local police. The crime does not need to have been investigated by the police or campus security, nor must a finding of guilt or responsibility be made. This report was obtained from the files of the Office of Safety and Security, the Office of Student Affairs, and the law enforcement agencies that surround our main campus & alternate sites. The reported crimes and relevant statistics are available in the office of the Dean of Students.
By the Americans with Disabilities Act, Arlington Baptist University respects all students' individual physical and cognitive needs. Any student in need of disability services should contact the Academic Affairs office upon enrollment to establish appropriate accommodations for any documented disabilities.
Any student who attended any other higher learning institution must present an official transcript with his/her application. Credits earned at an accredited institution will be considered for transfer where programs and courses are compatible. Grades earned in courses must be at least "C" level or equivalent before credits can be transferred. Students on academic probation at another college or University will be interviewed before being considered for admission. Transfer students must meet all other admissions requirements listed.
Arlington Baptist University maintains an open admissions policy. This is in recognition of the fact that the Lord calls individuals from different backgrounds and levels of preparation. The University is interested in extending its services to anyone who has a sincere desire to prepare for service to the Lord. The admissions requirements listed below are intended to help the University help the student determine goals and develop a college training program to fulfill those goals.
Every institution has its beginning in the planting of a seed idea. For Arlington Baptist University, the seed was planted in 1925 with a concept of a Bible Institute in Dallas. Although this Institute did not materialize, it led Dr. J. Frank Norris, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, to begin 1927, the Fundamental Bible Institute. The Institute offered a plan of systematic Bible study via radio and correspondence.
In 1931, Dr. Norris announced the formation of the Pre-Millennial Bible Conference/Southwestern Pre-Millennial Bible School, which would conduct two sessions a year. The first session was held in November 1931, and Dr. Louis Entzminger was named Superintendent. These Bible conferences were developed to provide concentrated pastoral training, encouragement, challenge, and teaching in the truth of God's Word.
Out of these early Bible training efforts, the Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute was chartered on March 3, 1939, and the first classes met in October of 1939, in an upper room of the First Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. The curriculum was expanded from the Bible conferences, and the length of the term was changed to eight months plus a two-month summer term.
