Our vision is to be a world-class university – one with a dynamic, enterprising approach to solving global challenges, enabling students to create their place in the world, one that defines the University of tomorrow. So, what does our future hold? Our current strategy lays out the following goals:
- Enable our students to succeed
- Deliver world-class research
- Secure our global position
- Engage our communities
- Champion social, cultural, and economic growth
- Secure our future Sustainability.
Warwick has made outstanding progress in a short time. We have secured an impressive reputation through our ability to combine excellence, creativity, and intellectual rigor with agility, professionalism, and Sustainability. Of course, the next decade will present very different opportunities and challenges to those we have faced so far. However, our commitment to securing Warwick's position as a leading global higher education institution remains undimmed. We are proud to fulfill our social obligations to educate, work at the frontiers of knowledge, and inculcate enlightenment values. Our University is also committed, in a way that few others are, to generating economic growth for our city, region, and the broader national economy in ways that will create more employment, educational opportunities, and resources. It is clear, however, that the current UK university business model is under stress. It cannot continue in its current form.
We are continuing to develop new international partnerships. All of our activities are underpinned by excellence, be it in teaching or research. Our international partnership funds support our staff to foster such international collaborations. Our students have a real chance to stand out in the international world of work and research, gain a global perspective, and develop the intercultural skills to be a genuinely positive force in today's global society. Students can choose to participate in several initiatives, including language cafés, mixed nationality group work, study, work, or volunteering abroad. Environmental Sustainability is a core value of the University. Our holistic ambition is to make the University of Warwick a sustainability education leader and an example of sustainable living, enhancing student and staff experience. We have already taken the following steps towards making the campus greener, Reducing carbon emissions per unit of income by 30% since 2005/6. Constant work to improve the existing buildings' energy efficiency on campus and high energy-efficiency standards for new buildings.
At Warwick, we work with over 400 successful companies, from global corporates to start-ups in markets including energy, healthcare, transport, advanced manufacturing, financial services, and creative media. We accelerate innovation and help ambitious companies to grow by giving them access to our world-class research, education, consultancy facilities, and networks of funders, businesses, support bodies, and entrepreneurs, both local and global.
