The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is renowned for its research, postgraduate studies, and continuing education in public and global health. We have an annual research income of more than £124 million and one of the UK's highest-rated research institutions. We have a diverse and genuinely global community dedicated to quality cross-disciplinary research. Our School is involved at every stage of the research pipeline, from basic science all the way through to evaluation of health interventions, providing a firm foundation of evidence for improving health. Crucially, we take research into the real world to make a tangible difference in people's lives.
We never know what will come next. As well as potential global disease outbreaks, we face many other challenges, including the ever-rising burden of chronic conditions such as obesity, cancer, diabetes, dementia, and threats from climate change and financial crises. That is why we must continue to train the next generation of leaders through our teaching and research programs and work together to innovate, respond, and prevent most effectively.
