We provide several services to support our students, staff, local communities, and businesses. All of these groups can access our sport and fitness facilities and our libraries – follow the links to find out how. If you are looking for a general introduction to London Met or are thinking about studying here, take a look at our course listings, events, and latest news.

For businesses, we offer a range of business services to connect you with our students, support your work, and venue hire for events. For students, we go the extra mile with our investment. We do this through our five-star promise, our pledge to connect our students with opportunities to boost their career skills. If you study here, we can help you with accommodation, funding, and career-enhancing advice. Our support services are designed to ensure that you receive all the guidance you can during your time with us.

The University's academic structure is made up of six schools. Each course is aligned to one of these schools, and if you are a prospective London Metropolitan University student, you can find out which school your course is managed under by checking the relevant course page.

Students studying in any of our schools have access to all our communal facilities (such as libraries, social spaces, cafés, and eateries). Each school also has areas of expertise, which might mean you use specialist resources as part of your course. Our schools have links to relevant businesses in sectors related to their specialist subject areas, and the schools are also hotbeds of research undertaken by University academics and Ph.D. students.

Welcome to our accommodation information site. Coming to the University and living in a major city like London is an exciting prospect, and it is essential to find somewhere safe, affordable, and comfortable to live. We aim to give you a comprehensive guide to student housing in London, including:

    • finding accommodation in external student halls of residence
    • searching for private rented accommodation (flatshares, whole flat and house rentals)
    • finding single-semester and short-stay accommodation, including homestay and hotels and B&Bs
    • living in private rented accommodation and receiving guidance on rental contracts and flat sharing with other students
    • advice about summer accommodation
    • landlord services including opportunities for landlords and agents to advertise accommodation to our students

For specific questions, refer to our contact page for telephone, email, and address details. If you would prefer to talk to someone in person, we have a drop-in service Monday to Friday at both the Aldgate and Holloway Hubs, 9.30 am until 12.30 pm (last drop-in entry at 12.10), and on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Moorgate Hub.

Drop-ins are a first-come-first seen service, with each drop-in lasting a maximum of 20 minutes. As advisers can only see a certain number of students during each drop-in session, it is advisable to arrive as early as possible. If you arrive late or the maximum number of students has been seen, you will be referred to the next drop-in session.

At London Metropolitan University we have excellent facilities to help you keep active and get fit. We run an extensive program of fitness classes and have a modern gym with state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment. Our sports facilities include a full-sized basketball court, complete with a scoreboard, and a dance studio. We offer a generous membership package that includes access to unlimited classes and the use of both gyms.

Take part in a fun-filled program of fitness classes running throughout the week. Open to students, staff, and the public.

The gym inside our Science Centre in Holloway provides affordable membership for students, staff, and the public. Students have the opportunity to join a sports team. If competitive sport is not your thing, students, staff, and the public can join recreational sports classes. Under fully qualified supervision, our final year BSc and MSc Sports Therapy students offer a range of competitively priced services.

We have a team of qualified sports scientists to give comprehensive advice on all aspects of training and fitness. London Met's libraries have a wide range of books, journals, and other online resources, various study rooms, and zones, and well-trained staff to support you throughout your studies.

Our libraries have over 305,000 books, 55,000 e-books, and 43,000 e-journals for you to use. As well as reading for the study, we have an accessible reading-for-pleasure collection. Research shows that reading for pleasure can help student achievement. As a London Met student, you will be able to use our online catalog to search or browse our collections. If you need help locating items in our collections, our staff at the library information desks will be happy to help.

While studying at London Met, you will have access to our unique collections, including the Trades Union Congress Library archive. We are also members of The Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL) Access Scheme, which allows our students and staff to use the libraries of other universities with the same membership.

Our two libraries support students and staff in the University's six academic schools. Our opening hours are easily accessible, and you will be able to visit us during these times to access our range of resources. Our e-resources are also available 24/7, on and off-campus.

Study spaces within the libraries are divided into zones for group and silent study. Our libraries also have bookable group study rooms with projection facilities, tech booths with large screens, plenty of fixed computers (PCs and Macs), and Wi-Fi. Students can borrow a laptop for up to four hours for use on or off-site.

Aldgate Library also provides a photography and drawing room and excellent materials and product collection for designers. Our professional academic liaison librarians will be available to advise you when you are looking for study and research materials. They facilitate access to specialized databases as well as provide research skills training. Academic liaison librarians will provide you with information literacy skills and the competences and knowledge you will need to study and research effectively. This will help you achieve your academic potential as well as aiding your employability.

Whether you have assignments, essays, projects, or your dissertation to write, or a group presentation to prepare for, our library staff will help you make the best use of the resources and facilities on offer here at London Met.
