East European University of Economics and Management was founded in Cherkasy in September 1992. Willing to create an alternative higher educational institution, progressive scientists united their forces to achieve a common purpose. Having broad experience of work at a higher educational institution and vast experience of practical activity, they became the founders of the first private higher educational institution in Cherkasy. They tried to form the higher educational institution of a new type and chose the most prestigious specialties, and worked out curricula to train professionals for developing the economics of Ukraine.
A 20-year way from "Cherkasy Branch of the Slavic International Institute of Administration, Business and Law" with a limited number of specialties to East European University, a large diversified educational institution, reflects aspects of extensive labor in faces, achievements, and plans. For the past twenty years at our University, twelve Doctors and more than thirty Candidates of Sciences have been awarded, more than twenty thousand professionals of different degrees who have been involved in the process of Ukrainian economics and received top executive positions in various fields and lines of development of Ukraine were trained here. The results of the performed work became the evidence of a worthy potential of a faculty, high-level organization of an educational process, restorative material, and technical basis of the University. Nowadays, our higher educational institution is intensively developing. It embraces the Institute of Economics and Management, Law Institute, Institute of Professional Retraining, Institute of Informational Technologies in Education, Institute of Structure and Processes Modelling in Economic System, College of Economics and Management.
The mission of East European University is to create a socially-oriented competitive higher educational establishment that meets world educational quality standards and the needs of the domestic and international labor market. East European University is a training center of highly qualified specialists focusing on innovation development and implementation. It is a place where a personality with high moral and democratic values is brought up. The current state of East European University is, on the one hand, the result of its development for over 20 years. On the other hand, it is the background for its future modernization. The University provides a great variety of opportunities for obtaining higher education, advanced training in different branches of management, law, and economics, and for conducting research work. It has international relations and takes an active part in the socio-political life of our country.

To become a part of the national system of education and science, the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) ideas are implemented in the system of higher education of the University. The University continually extends the range of activities aimed at searching for talented young people, taking care of their moral and financial support during the whole period of studies.
At our University, innovative training methods have been developed, such as business, role-playing games, problematic situations, quizzes, tests, disputes, etc. make up an essential part of the educational process. This system, combined with such traditional methods like lectures, seminars, and practical training, shows a qualitative performance of the training process, provides conditions for the creative approach to the practical task's solution, and the maximal approach to real life.
An integral part of the competitive specialists training comprises different types of practical training. The practice allows students to consolidate knowledge of theory, acquire the elementary skills of organizational work in a labor collective, and identify themselves as future specialists. The University students undergo practical training all over Ukraine and abroad.
