Universities contribute to the development and prosperity of the society in which they live and to humanity at large. Under this, they are obliged to be places of education faced with the necessity of assuming the task of being a locomotive in the development of first and foremost their regions and their countries, and then the world and humanity at large. Being the final stage of education, universities can not be regarded as distinct from, independent of, and antithetical to the society, culture, beliefs, and values. As significant science and advancement elements, they are responsible for teaching development, universality, tolerance, and respect for national and spiritual values. In addition to efforts to develop the social structure in which they are involved, these educational institutions must educate leaders, scientists, business people, and artists of the future in such a way that they will possess the power to meet the needs of the country, the nation and humanity in the best way.

It engages in activities to contribute to the goals of our country with the mission of "educating individuals who raise an awareness as a just and reliable university which is science-driven, institutionalized, enterprising and innovative for competitive superiority, has a social responsibility, respects the environment conducts researches aimed at sustainable development and safeguards public interest in all of its services." As heir to an ancient civilization, it will stick at all costs to its goal of being a global "brand university" that has adopted sustainability in all areas without making any concessions on national and moral values. It will continue to be our basic principles to raise individuals who will never allow our culture and values to degenerate while focusing on achieving quality, who do not equate enlightenment with opposition to our society's beliefs, and who go in search of change, progress, and modernity.

Our mission is to raise competent and virtuous individuals for the future with an enterprising and innovative approach and to do sustainable progress-oriented researches. Selçuk University is bound up with the following principles and values to reach its strategic goals and targets:

    • Independent in scientific areas
    • Autonomous in an institutional sense

    • Entrepreneurial, competitive, and innovative
    • Perfectionist and quality-oriented
    • Student-oriented
