Dr. Kwon Young-woo (Minong) established Semyung University in 1991 under the founding philosophy "Wi Se Gwang Myeong." Since that time, we at Semyung have been making significant advances towards our goal of becoming one of the most prestigious private universities in Korea.
Established by the Industrial Education Promotion and Industry-University Collaboration Promotion Act of 2004, the Industry-Academy Collaboration Foundation aims to improve the research environment and excellence in research results systematically. It is comprised of the Industry-University Cooperation Team, the Oriental Biotechnology Clinical Support Center, Clinical Research Support Center, Small and Medium Business Industry-University Cooperation Center, Child Feed Management Support Center, and IT Human Resource Development Center.
However, there are many obstacles to overcome in accomplishing this goal, and we cannot afford to stop innovating and challenging ourselves. We should all do our best to make Semyung a great center of learning that gives students a solid educational foundation, enabling them to adjust to whatever difficulties life may hold for them at all stages of their lives. We must nurture our talented student body to have the practical and specialist knowledge demanded by today's industries and communities. We must produce scholars who take the initiative in globally competitive environments.
We at Semyung must reinvent ourselves through innovation to become professionals with well-cultivated minds. We should pursue freedom, justice, and truth, and at the same time, love ourselves. We need to serve on both the local and national levels and ultimately contribute to world peace and prosperity.
Semyung University educates students to make the world a brighter place. Because it means to cultivate human beings that become light in the world and make humanity incredibly beneficial. It is a concept that encompasses liberty, equality, and peace, based on the spirit of humanity and philanthropy. It is also in line with the university's mission to educate students and explore the truth and serve humanity.
The right individuals for the university are "Wi Se Gwang Myeong," a founding philosophy which means that the future is brightly lit. A Wi Se Gwang Myeong individual has CHARM qualities of taking on challenges, growing, and being independent.
The SEMC is a corporation established by the Industrial Education Promotion Act and the Act on Promotion of Industry-University Cooperation. It aims to contribute to the community and the university's development by fostering and managing industry-university-related cooperation activities comprehensively and systematically.
To this end, Samyoung University will collaborate with the region to become a stepping stone to create future technology value for the 4th Industrial Revolution era. I want to ask for your continued interest and active cooperation.
