HOSEO University is a youthful school devoted to fostering the talented personnel needed by society by "Reinforcing Personality Education founded upon the Spirit of Christianity."
The university was originally a private technical college founded in 1978 in Anseo-dong, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, called Cheonwon Technology University. The founder is Seokgyu Kang, and the motto of the school is, "We can do it, and it will come true." In 1980, Cheonwon Technology University changed its name to Hoseo University. It was re-formed as a four-year collegiate university; the university has a central library, museum, broadcasting company, newspaper, continuing education and health clinic center, etc. It also has several research centers:
- industrial-educational cooperation research center
- small and medium-sized businesses research center
- industrial technology research center
- display technical education research center
- environmental bioresearch center
Hoseo University is founded upon the spirit of Christianity. Located at the vast, environment-friendly Asan Campus are the university headquarters, College of Engineering, new College of IT Engineering, College of Natural Sciences, and College of Arts and Physical Education. At the same time, the Cheonan Campus has the College of Liberal Arts, College of Social Sciences, Department of Music, and Department of Practical Music. The Seoul Campus, located in Seocho-dong, Seoul, has a Graduate School of Venture. Each campus supports education and research with the best facilities in a specialized, pleasant environment.
To realize the school's foundation philosophy, we foster outstanding individuals with the venture spirit. The venture spirit is the creative spirit and challenge spirit that are demanded by the new era. It is the spirit of youth that overcomes hardships to achieve success. For the first time in the history of colleges in the nation, HOSEO University established Students' Business Incubator, actively supporting students to start businesses. HOSEO is the university equipped with the best conditions for students who challenge their dream.
HOSEO's ambition and self-confidence are apparent in the large display of the slogan on the school building wall, saying, "Those without a dream, dare not come to this place. Those without the desire to make it to the end dare not come to this place, either. Only those who believe in the fact that if we try, we can make it may come to this place". HOSEO University is full of dreams and drive towards the future.
