University of San Jose Recoletos

The University of San Jose–Recoletos, formerly known as Colegio de San Jose–Recoletos, is a private research and Catholic university founded in 1947 in Cebu City, Philippines, by order of Augustinian Recollects. From classes held in an old building and a portion of the convent, the school built modern structures while retaining classic features. The university has three campuses, two of which are located in different areas of Metro Cebu – the main campus along with Corner P. Lopez and Magallanes Sts. and the Basak Campus at Cebu South Road, Basak Pardo, Cebu City. Its third campus, the newly built Balamban Campus, is located in April, a barangay in the Municipality of Balamban.
We envision the University of San Jose-Recoletos to be a premier Gospel and community-oriented educational institution committed to transforming individuals to become more responsive society leaders through the innovative integral formation.
Proudly standing at Magallanes Street, bordered by the streets Borromeo, P. Lopez, and Leon Kilat, is an institution of learning spanning 62 years of existence. Then Colegio de San Jose, the University of San Jose-Recoletos, continues to fulfill its vision of providing Quality Christian Community-Oriented Education. Identified as one of the excellent schools in the Philippines, USJ-r takes pride in its excellent faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, healthy academic atmosphere, active community outreach programs, and spiritual freedom that permeates the walls of the university.
The College of Information, Computer, and Communications Technology offers dynamic Information technology and computing degree programs whose graduates are responsive to the rapidly changing demands of the local and global community. The senior high school system designed to accommodate individual disciplines that facilitate more immense opportunities provides specific career tracks barring the eight learning areas from the core curriculum. It aspires for students to advance their specialization and excel in the field they have chosen.
The Center envisions proactively collaborating in bringing-out students’ potential, thus producing socially responsible and self-empowered Josenians through a meaningful delivery of a comprehensive guidance and counseling program.
The University of San Jose-Recoletos is a vibrant community of higher education research leaders in various disciplines committed to improving the quality of life of the underserved and underprivileged society sectors. The research community of USJ-R shall be independent, autonomous, and visionary thinkers for furthering their respective higher education disciplines in the international and global setting.
