Given the strategic location of the University at the heart of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its viability as a key driver of socio-economic development, the effort to excel in the field of higher education and the inculcation of moral values in the students at the University Campus will continue in future with greater zeal.
The government of Balochistan is putting in its best effort and channelizing available resources to transform the Universities in the province into state-of-the-art institutions of international repute that are equipped with the latest teaching techniques, training equipment, and technology. In the future also, the Balochistan government will continue to extend its full support in making the universities prestigious academic and research institutions of the country.
The trajectory of the University is adorned with some commendable achievements on the part of the University. Some of them include the recent shifting to its permanent main campus at Jinnah M-8 University Road Turbat, and successfully holding its first Convocation in March 2017 whereby scores of students were conferred upon degrees by the honorable Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai.
The establishment of the Sub Campus of the University of Turbat at Gwader during the year 2017 speaks volumes of the supreme hard work and dedication of the team endowed with a mission to see the University of Turbat as one of the finest seats of learning in the country. The supreme willpower, support, and faith of the parents in the budding institution and students saw us through those challenges and today we can hold our heads high with confidence seeing the jubilant faces of graduates from the first two batches of the University.
The achievements earned by the university within a short period speak volumes of the tireless efforts of the University Faculty, administration, and staff for making this day a reality. It would not have been possible without their determination.
District Kech of Makran division with a population of around 15 lacs, the land of a romance legend, has always been a place of importance for its geographical location, and famous for its production of date fruit. The people of the region had always longed for a university nearby. Their dream finally materialized in the shape of an independent University in May 2013 under the University of Turbat Act 2012. This was made possible due to the zealous efforts put in by academic and administrative staff at the sub-campus with the support of natives, political parties, the provincial government, and management of the University of Balochistan.
The University of Turbat believes to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, fostering integrative thinking among students so that they could contribute to the projects of (CPEC) and could bring Pakistan towards economic independence. Following the nonstop academic success and unfaltering achievements along with the completion of all formalities, the University of Turbat was recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan as the 158th public Sector University in the country and second public Sector General University in the province on 12th March 2014 within 10 months after switching over to a full-fledged University from a sub-campus of Balochistan University.
