Shizuoka Eiwa Gakuin University was founded in 1887 by Canadian missionaries. In 1966, the junior college was first opened, and then, in 2002, the university was established. As such, Eiwa has a long tradition in education based on Christian values. We are tremendously proud of our graduates, many of whom have contributed to regional development. With Christianity as its cornerstone, our approach to education and study is grounded in the spirit of “Love and Service.”
To respect each other is nothing but “the practice of love” as in our scripture, “a faith that includes the practice of love is most important.” It is also to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” I would be grateful if you could deepen your learning in various academic fields to create a sustainable society. Please be aware that you are loved and serve others with your deepest love in that learning process. At Eiwa, you will meet people who will become your friends for life and find real enrichment. It is my wish that all of Eiwa’s students open up the future of a convivial society.
With a school philosophy of “Love and Service” based on a spirit of Christianity, Eiwa nurtures its students to develop into people with a rich international perspective who contribute to the local community and humankind. Eiwa offers a variety of learning facilities in the heart of nature representative of Japan, such as Mt. Fuji, where one can fully savor the beauty of the four seasons.
The new school building was completed in 2009. The campus features a library with a storage capacity of 108,000 books and 219 reading seats, a computer center, language laboratory (LL), worship center, volunteer center, Overseas Student Center, multipurpose athletics field, Interdisciplinary Mind Research Center, a gymnasium, and so on.
