The NORDAKADEMIE is the first state-recognized private university directly founded and funded by the business (Hochschule der Wirtschaft). It offers practice-based undergraduate programs with special conditions and high success rates. With over 2000 students and over 300 partner companies, it is also one of Germany's largest private on-site universities.

The NORDAKADEMIE has its canteen on the campus. You will find the students' restaurant on the top floor of the Erasmus building. It offers a nice view from the roof terrace outside.
You will find daily offers such as breakfast, snacks, and warm and cold drinks.
During lunchtime, two warm meals, a fresh salad buffet, and several snacks are expecting you! Check our menu for specials such as cake and ice cream during summer!
As a part of the mission statement, the programs of the NORDAKADEMIE are subject to continuous expansion with a view to lifelong learning.
Moreover, additional offers are dedicated to lifelong learning. Have a look at the Graduate School's postgraduate training courses in Hamburg or the various series of lectures (Vortragsreihen) that are mainly open to the public.
A particular concern of the NORDAKADEMIE encompasses the support of young talents (Nachwuchsförderung).
The International Office supports the students of the NORDAKADEMIE during preparations for their semester abroad. With the international student committee's help, the staff provides the students with information about the partner universities and about staying abroad.
Moreover, the International Office is the first contact for our international students concerning their application to the NORDAKADEMIE.
The seminars and language courses complete the range of compulsory and examination subjects to enable the development of soft skills, discuss current management issues, and acquire specialized knowledge areas.
Typically the seminars take place at the weekends. Every student must participate in some seminars to get a specific amount of credit points. Many students take advantage of this opportunity and sign up for far more than the required number of hours.
The seminar program with more than 100 topics is continually updated and enlarged, often at the students' suggestion. For example, it is possible to learn Japanese since 2002.
According to the Bachelor's study conditions, you have to participate and pass seminars and language courses equivalent to 12 semester weekly hours minimum (excluding the studies' compulsory language courses) to achieve the Bachelor's degree.
For students and researchers to test and evaluate theoretical contents, excellent research conditions are of great importance to the NORDAKADEMIE. Therefore, two new buildings were constructed on campus in 2014. As well as new living and learning facilities, the new buildings also offer new laboratories. Since their construction, the Industrial Engineering department has been able to try out out new ideas within the field of Industry 4.0 in the "Labor Technik," and the department of Information Technology has been working on the fields of topics' usability' and 'collaboration' in the respective laboratories.
The laboratory exercises are coordinated closely with the lecture material and illustrate the theoretical content in practice.
Students may also use the laboratories outside lecture periods after consulting Wilfried Netzler or Benjamin Wagner, or Helmut Guttenberg (Information Technology labs).
The mission statement of the NORDAKADEMIE describes a vision of researching the economy while centering around our students. Building on the mission statement, research output is seen as a service for our customers.
The research potential of the NORDAKADEMIE is its focus on economic and technical disciplines and application orientation, all of which create excellent conditions for (interdisciplinary) research.
In the NORDAKADEMIE library, technical literature is available for our students and lecturers and various library databases.
The EBSCO-Database offers online access to more than 100 databases and electronic periodicals concentrating on economic literature. International publications are also available as full text.
The WISO-Database provides a broad and comprehensive offer of German literature in business and social science (e.g., 6.2 million full-text documents from more than 340 magazines and more than 4 million references).
