Archimedes Foundation is an independent body established by the Estonian government to coordinate and implement different international and national programs and projects in training, education, and research.
Study in Estonia is your official national guide to higher education in the Republic of Estonia and is maintained by the Archimedes Foundation. Currently, it is possible to study 46 different programs in English at the postgraduate level in Estonia. Estonia has a strong tradition in higher education with some of the oldest universities in Europe.
We are the implementing body of Erasmus+ Programme, EEA/Norway Grants Scholarship program, Nordplus Programme, and our Education Agency administers several national and international scholarship schemes for improving mobility and marketing Estonian higher education abroad.
The evaluation of foreign qualifications is carried out by the Agency of Academic Recognition (Estonian ENIC/NARIC center). In contrast, the Estonian Quality Agency for Higher and Vocational Education carries out institutional accreditation and quality assessment of study groups.
We are the Implementing Agency of Structural Support for the period 2014-2020 in Research & Development. Our Structural Funds Agency is accredited as an implementing agency for the programming period of 2014-2020 by the Government of the Republic. The Agency's main tasks are to assess project applications in the area of Research & Development, to consult applicants, make out payments, and check the eligibility of costs.
Youth Agency is the Estonian Centre for Quality and International Cooperation in the youth field. Youth Agency is responsible for capacity building in the youth field, focusing on international cooperation. Our activities can be divided into three main areas:
- supporting the development of young people
- enhancing the quality of youth work
- shaping youth policy
Since the beginning, Youth Agency has been the implementing body (Estonian National Agency) for European Union youth programs in Estonia. As of 2014, when the new EU program Erasmus+ for Education, Youth, and Sport was launched, we are responsible for implementing Erasmus+ Youth Chapter objectives.
Besides, Youth Agency combines various national and international strategies and measures to create a substantial and systemic impact in the youth field.
