For over 40 years, St Thomas More College has provided secondary school education to Sunnybank and surrounding suburbs. Upon further viewing, you will discover how the College fosters in all students:

    • A commitment to our Christian faith through engagement in our religious education curriculum, prayer, worship, retreats, and social action.
    • A commitment to learning through our extensive academic and vocational curriculum offerings, student support services, an integrated learning framework, and ongoing teacher development.
    • A sense of community through a strong connection between staff, students, families, our Pastoral Care Program, and various co-curricular opportunities in arts, sport, music, and culture.

St. Thomas More College has established a reputation as an inclusive faith learning community with a critical focus on all students' pastoral care. Thus, creating a robust platform that ensures the individual success of students post-secondary school. Our vision is the formation of sacramental people in a Catholic school. Our mission, inspired by Jesus, is to seek, grow, and serve by:

    • Developing faith so that we might better enter into the goodness of creation and the mysteries of life, death, and resurrection.
    • Actively learning through high-quality educational experiences.
    • Participating in the community as members of the College family and as citizens of Queensland, Australia, and the world.

This is reflected in our motto God's Servant First, which reminds all that every thought, word, and deed should be informed by compassion and kindness, justice and peace, and love of God and one another. The whole-school approach aims to improve students' reading through the explicit teaching of literal, inferential, and interpretive comprehension strategies. Strategic reading is a life skill, enabling our students to become self-regulated, active readers with various strategies to help them comprehend. The College implements the 'Super 6' Reading Strategies as a school-wide approach to enhance students' reading comprehension.
