Bachelor Studies in Agrarian Pedagogy, In this training, students acquire the necessary qualifications to teach pupils of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and adults in further education. Therefore, promoting the students' ability to teach their expertise has become the central aim of our teacher training programs.
Our focus is on subject areas such as business management, agricultural sciences, food sciences, renewable energy, educational sciences, personality development, and project management. Students also want to have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in internships in the agricultural and forestry sciences education sector.
Bachelor Studies in Environmental Education, In our bachelor study program Environmental Education, it is essential to be aware of the qualification of students in the areas of environment, sustainable development, and pedagogy. The program includes issues and sustainable development in local and regional areas, climate protection, energy efficiency, educational sciences, personal development, and project management.
Internships lasting several weeks are completed in educational institutions and consulting services of the agricultural and forestry sector. This does not guarantee practical experience but also establishes links to the prospective occupational fields.
The University College for Agricultural and Environmental Pedagogy is the educational and research center for teachers and consultants in the professional fields of agriculture, forestry, and environment.
The beginnings of the cooperation go back a long way. As early as 1875 the former "Ministry of Agriculture" introduced so-called teaching qualifications for agricultural and forestry subjects at the College of Agricultural Sciences. After the Second World War, many adjustments were made in the cooperation between the two universities, especially concerning the crediting of study content. Today, students of the BOKU have the opportunity to study in parallel the teacher of agricultural and forestry studies as well as the qualification for agricultural counseling (bachelor's degree in agricultural and environmental education) as well as the teaching of environmental subjects at vocational schools and the qualification for environmental consulting professions (bachelor program "environmental education") to attend her BOKU studies, The university supplements the high-quality subject-specific BOKU study with the pedagogical aspect that is indispensable for vocational training. The students of the two educational institutions enter the job market with complete and future-oriented vocational training.
