With an expanding global presence, including locations in Perth, Malaysia, and Singapore, Curtin University boasts a rich diversity of cultures in its students and staff and a commitment to international engagement. We also have a long-standing focus on Indigenous education and culture, supported by our Centre for Aboriginal Studies.

Curtin is ranked in the top one percent of universities worldwide in the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities 2017. We are WA's most preferred university and are globally recognized for our strong connections with industry, high-impact research, and a wide range of innovative courses. We are also WA's largest and most multicultural university, welcoming more than 52,000 students, around a third of whom come from a country other than Australia. Curtin graduates with a postgraduate degree earned the highest salaries among their graduate peers in Western Australia, according to the 2018 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) report.

Higher education is in the midst of a global revolution, and Curtin is among those leading the challenge! Our ambition is to be a global university recognized for innovation in learning and teaching, offering the opportunity of quality and prestigious Curtin education to learners anywhere in the world.

Curtin already has a significant presence in the international education arena, with an extensive network of national and international partnerships, more than 90 fully online courses, and 60,000 enrolled students participating remotely or at one of seven campuses in four countries.

More than 250,000 learners have registered for Curtin's MicroMasters and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) following the 2015 launch of our partnership with edX, a consortium of elite universities established by Harvard and MIT. Our long term vision is Greater Curtin, a vibrant urban hub and knowledge city at Bentley with an intricate network of on-campus and online educators, researchers, and students engaged with learning at Curtin from all over the world.

The Curtin Learning Experience has developed from recognizing that active learning can improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills and encourage deeper engagement in life-long learning. Strategies include on-campus and online tutorials, participation in face-to-face workshops and tutorials through high-end video and web technologies, and real-world problem-solving.

Opportunities to study at a partner university, undertake Work Integrated Learning, gain leadership experience, and develop Indigenous cultural awareness are available within Australia and overseas, both as part of the curriculum and co-curricular activities. Our unique Curtin Extra Certificate formally lists and recognizes leadership and learning experiences that students undertake outside course requirements.

To ensure that Curtin graduates meet the evolving needs of industry and employers, we are gradually unbundling our courses to give students the flexibility to structure their qualifications based on their interests and future employment needs. Students will soon be able to mix and match subjects from different faculties and affiliated partner universities. They can also participate in co-curricular activities that can develop and demonstrate a diverse range of skills. Students will build a qualification that enhances and supports their personal, professional, and career aspirations.

While the global economy expands, and our student base extends far beyond Australia's borders, Curtin's learning experience will become increasingly personalized. Student-focused systems and learning analytics will give our staff useful insights into students' achievements and the challenges they may be facing. We will be able to provide tailored guidance that will enhance students' personal and professional development.
