    University of Verona

The University of Verona is dedicated to innovation and maintaining the high quality of its teaching and research. The institution has 22,000 students and 1,500 teaching and non-teaching staff, all dedicated to a continual growth process and the development of human, structural and financial resources. The University has strong links to the local community and looks to the future through its constant strengthening of the link between courses offered and the world of work. In the immediate future, one of the University’s principal objectives is to continue with its building program to create an improved and welcoming environment. The University of Verona was founded in 1982 and is divided into four areas and fifteen departments. The University of Verona has two main sites: - the Veronetta site, including the central administration, the Rector’s office, and the departments in the areas of Humanities, and Economics and Law. - the Borgo Roma site, including the departments in the areas of Life Sciences, and Science and Engineering. The Department of Law is in the Cittadella area, and the Department of Neurological, Neuropsychological, Morphological and Motor Sciences is in Borgo Venezia. The University also has several secondary sites in nearby towns: courses are taught in Legnago (VR), Vicenza, Bolzano, Trento, Ala (TN), Rovereto (TN), and Canazei (TN). The University of Verona is divided into Departments through which it performs its institutional teaching and research roles and conducts activities in cooperation with external entities. The departments within the Life Sciences macro area link together the departments of Medicine and Surgery. The University Library System is divided into two main areas: Humanities-Economics-Law and Medicine-Science-Technology. The University library catalog (OPAC) contains details of all volumes kept in the two central and 36 departmental libraries, and services are automated through the SAB system. Traditional and online materials in the collections of other town libraries are included in the main catalog. The Library System provides access to traditional, electronic, and digital materials for research, teaching, administration, and assessment, as governed by art. 42 of the Statute.
