Trisakti University was established amid Res Publica University (URECA) ruins, demolished by people due to its affiliation with the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI). The Higher Education legalized the Establishment of Trisakti University and Science Ministry (PTIP) Decree no. 014/dar/1965 and no. 014/darI1965, signed by Syarief Thajeb, Dr. on November 29. 1965. This date is agreed as the day of the establishment of Trisakti University. In the beginning, the condition of Trisakti University (SAKTI) was insufficient, where the learning process was very uneasy; however, with spirit and firm intention, the limitation of the physical facility was not a primary problem. Students and Lecturers, hand in hand, provided a clean environment' and improved and refurbished the campus's existing condition. The process of the establishment of Trisakti University (SAKTI) was quite interesting. SAKTI was the only private university that was established by the Government. This unique relationship has been maintained throughout the development of SAKTI in Indonesian education. Minister Syarief Thajeb was the person who formed a temporary presidium, which consisted of well-known education people. The main goal was to simplify the supervision of academic and administration. A year later, the Government established the Trisakti Foundation based on the Notaries Act, signed by E. Pondaag. The vision of Trisakti University To become a reliable University with International standards and local values in developing Science, Technology, Art, and Culture to improve quality of life and civilization. The mission of Trisakti University Increasing the participation of Trisakti University in generating human resources to have the intellectual ability, with international standards, and characterized as Trikrama Trisakti through education and teaching. Increasing research activities to develop science, technology, and art based on local values to answer the national issues and improve the quality of life and civilization. Increasing the participation of Trisakti University in supporting the needs of society and industry through community service activities. Increasing the commitment of Trisakti University in enforcing good university governance. The education system adopted by all study programs in Trisakti University is the Semester Credit System (SKS), namely the education system using Credits (SKS) for study load, student learning experience, lecturer teaching study program load. The semester is a continuous period where students study based on credit load planned at the beginning of the semester. The maximum study period for a student to complete the respective study load/ total credits is 14 semesters. Based on the Trisakti University statute in the year 1965, the University logo is a TRISULA (the trident-a weapon in traditional Indonesian mythology) in black color, which is symbolic of the TRIDARMA (the triad functions) of Indonesian higher education institutions covering education, research, and services to the community, stands on five roots in black color which symbolizing PANCASILA, the five basic state philosophy principles. Every Faculty within the Trisakti University has its respective banner, which uses only the logo of Trisakti University in a different color as regulated by the Rector's decree. Faculty of Law TRI SAKTI UNIVERSITY uses red. Faculty of Economics uses yellow, Faculty of Medicine uses green, Faculty of Dentistry uses purple, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning uses blue.
