      1. The Trakia University of Thrace University (Bulgarian: Тракийски университет, Trakiyski universitet) is a Bulgarian university in the city of Stara Zagora. It was named after the historical region of Thrace and was established in 1995. The University organizes training on programs with four educational and qualification degrees: Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D., as well as on programs for qualification and post-graduate training in the system of lifelong education. While the University has been teaching in the local languages for several years, it has recently started teaching in English in the major's Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. The National Assessment and Accreditation Agency accredit Trakia University at the Council of Ministers. A diploma with the appropriate certification level is issued. The international and European cooperation has decisive importance for the future of Trakia University, for the development of new directions of teaching and research, for experience exchange, and further development of the University's infrastructure. Internationalization of education is widely supported at our University, and it has become an integral part of its development's strategic plan. Trakia University has signed Agreements for international cooperation with many universities, aiming to develop academic relations and long-term cooperation in higher education, exchange of academic staff, student exchange, and support of research activity. Trakia University is open to new partnerships. Trakia University: Stara Zagora is an autonomous state institution. It was established in 1995 by Decree of the 37 the National Parliament. The University organizes training on programs with four educational and qualification degrees – Specialist, Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D., and programs for qualification and post-graduate training in the system of life-long education. Trakia University: Stara Zagora has legitimate institutional accreditation by resolving the National Assessment and Accreditation Agency at the Council of Ministers. Graduate students receive a diploma stamped with the state coat of arms of the Republic of Bulgaria. Information services are provided to students and lecturers by a library and information center with over 400 000 volumes of specialized literature and specialized periodicals in Bulgarian, English, French, German and Russian. The libraries have well-organized internal and international book exchange with 35 countries and 108 universities. A connection with the Internet – the world computer network – has been established, making it possible for all lecturers and students to use its services. Students can use hostels with over 1660 beds available and well-furnished canteens, disco clubs, cafeterias, and shops. A center of physical education and sport exists at the University. It provides conditions for students to practice various sports under teachers' guidance: football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, track-and-field events, aerobics, martial arts, bodybuilding, etc. The jockey club is one of the most popular in the country. A high sports mastery of equestrian sports is developed there, and students have possibilities for amateur horse-back riding and horse tracks. The lecturers are 646, of which 227 with academic rank.
