Teesside University has been awarded a silver rating in the government's new Teaching Excellence Framework. In addition to Teesside's silver award, the local further education colleges that deliver Teesside University courses have received either silver or gold awards to teach full and part-time students. Teesside is a few universities in the UK to have been awarded the nationally recognized Customer First accreditation for its services to business. This is the fourth time Teesside has received the Customer First standard, which lasts for two years. Each time it is reaccredited, the University must demonstrate how it has continuously improved. Teesside is one of only five UK universities accredited with Investors in People Gold status to recognize our staff's engagement in delivering the University's vision, values, and strategy and our commitment to a culture of professional empowerment development. The University achieved Investors in People (IiP) recognition in 1999, gaining Bronze status in 2008 and Gold status first in 2011 and again in 2014. Teesside University has achieved Gold status from EcoCampus – the leading environmental management system and award scheme for the higher and further education sectors. The EcoCampus gold award sits alongside the University's Carbon Trust Standard. This award is given to organizations that strive to measure, manage, and reduce carbon emissions across their operations. Teesside 2020 sets out a new vision for the University that raises the aspiration and ambition of Teesside University to be an international university at the heart of the Tees Valley with a reputation for academic excellence. It will respond to universities' challenges and opportunities over the next five years and build Teesside's brand and reputation both nationally and internationally. Teesside will be a leading University with an international reputation for academic excellence that provides an outstanding student and learning experience underpinned by research, enterprise, and the professions.
