  1. LEARN passionately. THINK critically. ACT responsibly. LEAD with integrity. It is who we are, what we teach, how we guide our students and the philosophy that inspires us each day at Brownell Talbot School. Our expectations are high, but they only reflect the incredible strengths and talents of our students. We are located in the city's heart, right next to Memorial Park in the Happy Hollow and Dundee neighborhood. For more than 150 years, Brownell Talbot has been the school of choice for families who understand the lifelong benefits of a quality, comprehensive education. As Nebraska's only private, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school, we seek to enroll students in grades preschool through 12 who have the motivation to succeed. The potential to thrive. The curiosity to make the most of what they learn within this challenging environment. Brownell Talbot is a safe, caring community dedicated to academic excellence and preparing students for college and life success. Through experiences in academics, activities, and the arts, students learn passionately, think critically, act responsibly, and lead with integrity. We value integrity, self-discipline, and each person's inherent dignity. Our community challenges each student to endlessly strive to reach their potential through exploration, understanding, and development of the creative, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and social self. Through an appreciation of the United States and its role in the global community, students will become responsible leaders and stewards of their community, country, and world. By offering a comprehensive, challenging education backed by a thoughtful approach, we will: Foster self-awareness and achievement consistent with each student's abilities, interests, and talents. Implement a rigorous curriculum that develops critical thinking and decision-making and prepares students for success in a rapidly changing world. Promote core ethical values as the foundation of good character based on the School's Points of Pride. Instill in students a selfless desire to serve their community. Attract and retain outstanding faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Establish a school community based on mutual respect and appreciation of differences. Want to know what sets us apart? Start with our students. At Brownell Talbot, we embrace students' inner strengths and talents, nurturing their passions, inspiring their curiosity, and building their confidence. By encouraging our students to learn passionately, think critically, act responsibly, and lead with integrity, we can help them reach their fullest potential. This goal is what drives our approach to education at all levels. It is what helps our students succeed. It forms the foundation for the impressive statistics set us apart here in Omaha and across the country. It is what makes us different. Our dedicated faculty members work hard to uncover each student's strengths early on, paving the way for a successful academic career. Through small class sizes, low student-instructor ratios, and enthusiastic faculty, we can cultivate a supportive environment and a lifelong love of learning. Our students are exposed to a learning environment that develops critical thinking during crucial developmental years. They watch, learn, grow, and develop global thinking through a lens that fosters diversity and possibility, alongside a challenging curriculum that becomes a routine and anticipated part of their daily experience. We offer students the challenges, independence, and responsibility they need to think for themselves and act intelligently, in and outside of school. This level of trust results in more confident, mature, and respectful students and adults. Brownell Talbot has a 100-percent college placement among our seniors. SAT and ACT scores are higher on average than any district in the Omaha metropolitan area. We provide opportunities parents will not find anywhere else - from a rigorous curriculum, international travel, and summer enrichment to community service programs and beyond. By teaching students the importance of setting and achieving goals and the value of character, we prepare students to navigate the world with stewardship and success. At Brownell Talbot, we differentiate ourselves by offering a rigorous college-prep curriculum within the context of a nurturing, supportive environment. When this structured approach is combined with fine and performing arts, world language, and physical education, students receive the comprehensive, customized experience they need to flourish personally, grow intellectually, and move forward with a level of confidence required for long-term success. No matter how they choose to shape their Brownell Talbot experience and what they aim to accomplish in the years ahead, students leave our school ready for college. Ready for life. Ready to make their mark. View full school

  4. Welcome to Talbot Heath, a school that prides itself on its love of learning, strong principles, and warmth. Our school has developed a reputation for excellence, high standards, and values over 130 years. A Church of England School, founded in 1886 to provide a first-class liberal education for girls, the school cherishes its past while looking firmly to the future with an approach to education that is innovative and dynamic. The education that Talbot Heath offers its pupils, from age 3 to 18, is holistic and focussed on preparing the girls for the future that awaits them. Intellectual curiosity and academic rigor go hand in hand with independent and interdisciplinary learning. The young people of today will need to be creative thinkers, digitally proficient, adaptable, resilient, and capable of working both collaboratively and independently. The future will be powered by STEAM (Science Technology Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) and our pupils need to be confident and competent in all these areas. Our ground-breaking approach to education which combines rigor with exploration focuses on a curriculum that is creative, broad, and in line with that being offered by the most dynamic and successful schools globally. Our girls are encouraged to think big and have aspirations we do not limit their thinking according to age or preconceptions of outcomes. We offer a broad range of opportunities to girls to allow them to work with like-minded pupils across the school on projects as diverse as robotics, debating, dragons' den, baking, and art installations. The vision for the school has been to be liberal, progressive, and pioneering from its very outset. Girls were to be equipped with knowledge, confidence, skills and inspired to blaze a trail in any sphere. It is no coincidence that Talbot Heath girls were many of the first female graduates, doctors, editors, judges, film directors, and scientific professors in the country. There is no one type of Talbot Heath girl - we encourage individuality and our supportive and secure learning environment allows pupils to be themselves, confident in the knowledge that they will be valued by staff and peers for who they are. There are, however, certain traits that are common to all our pupils: Talbot Heath girls are confident but not arrogant, knowledgeable but not complacent, able to express their opinions but willing to listen to those of others, independent yet supportive, strong yet compassionate, principled but fun. They value what they have and they value others. They are keen to play a role in the wider world but have a strong sense of community. They are original but can work as a team. Our pupils love coming here, our staff love working here- we are proud of our school and the education that we offer. We look forward to welcoming you in person to our school and showing you firsthand why TH is unique. Our extremely positive learning environment brings out the best in the pupils from age 3-18 and the close rapport between staff and girls means that they realize their full potential. Our girls achieve consistently high results at all Key Stages going back decades, resulting in success accessing places at the UK’s most prestigious universities. The caliber of our teaching staff and their commitment to their pupils is second to none. We offer a dynamic and forward-looking curriculum within a highly supportive and nurturing environment. Achievements of all are celebrated, girls give of their best in whatever they do. Our education is broad and holistic, girls excel in their subjects - with commitment and passion and continue to further their education in many universities. Our pupils are happy and can be themselves, as there is little peer pressure and a strong school ethos based upon principles and consideration for others. Talbot Heath was founded in 1886 by Mary Broad to provide a first-class liberal education for girls, an aim that holds today. A committed social reformer and devoted Christian, Miss Broad wished to provide a rigorous education with high academic standards, while developing a genuine love of life and learning in her pupils. At Talbot Heath, we cherish our long traditions and heritage while celebrating modernity and dynamism. Talbot Heath is a Church of England School founded on Christian principles but we welcome pupils of all faiths. Our approach is an inclusive one where all members of the community are united in the importance they place on principles, compassion, and consideration of others. Talbot Heath girls are confident but not arrogant, knowledgeable but not complacent, able to express their opinions but willing to listen to those of others, independent yet supportive, strong yet compassionate, principled but fun. They value what they have and they value others. They are keen to play a role in the wider world but have a strong sense of community. They are original but can work as a team. The School’s motto is ‘Honour Before Honours’ and this underpins the community. We care for each other and support one another. Integrity and character lie at the heart of who we are.
