  3. Our mission is to educate students to become servants of Christ to make a difference in today's world. The College seeks to assist in the personal growth and development of qualified students by providing an education based upon an integrated understanding of the Bible and the liberal arts. Bryan College was established as a four-year undergraduate college of arts and sciences, although until 1958, the corporate title used the term "University." In December 2005, the College was authorized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (Commission on Colleges) to offer its first graduate degree: The Master of Business Administration. Chartered in 1930 under the laws of Tennessee as a general welfare corporation with the primary purpose of providing "for the higher education of men and women under auspices distinctly Christian and spiritual," the College has responded to changing times with various modifications of its educational program. The goals for institutional development and the changing climate in American higher education will continue to influence the educational program. However, the original institutional purpose as a Christian liberal arts college remains unchanged. With an awareness of its heritage and a commitment to its future, the College endeavors to serve its constituencies by traditional and novel means. Bryan College maintains the following distinctive as part of its vision for the next century. Although students are neither required to subscribe to any statement of belief nor placed under any duress about their religious position, the College leadership desires that its graduates will ultimately find their lives transformed by the living Christ, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and consistently practicing a thoroughly Christian lifestyle which grows from a well-developed biblical worldview. These graduates should be well-integrated persons and mature citizens who accept their responsibility to glorify God and serve others. At Bryan College, you will receive a first-class education and a Bachelor's Degree to equip you for your future. In this highly competitive global marketplace, a Master's Degree can provide an even more significant advantage over other job candidates. Now, you can earn both degrees for the price of one. If you complete your Bachelor's Degree at Bryan College, you will have the opportunity to earn a Master's Degree at Bryan College tuition-free. It is the Bryan Difference. Bryan College's Master of Business Administration in General Management (MBA) allows students to achieve their personal and professional goals by learning real-world applications about the business environment through a Christian worldview. The online MBA program is delivered in an accelerated format, allowing students to finish their graduate degree in as little as 18 months. Bryan College's MBA program is accredited through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). The program highlights aspects such as leadership formation, service commitment, technological competence, and global astuteness as critical aspects of business proficiency. You can also choose from several specializations based on your career goals and interests. Specializations include Marketing, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Sports Management, and Ministry. The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry program is designed to prepare servant leaders for various church or ministry-related fields. The online degree program provides a broad understanding of the Christian Ministry while providing specific in-depth knowledge and personal development to succeed in full or part-time ministry. Courses provide students with a strong understanding of biblical leadership principles, focusing on biblical, theological, and practical applications. The degree is ideal for the ministry and lay leaders, church staff, Christian educators, mission leaders, non-profit and para-church organization workers, and individuals who desire a more knowledgeable perspective on life and faith. The program is entirely online, making an accredited Christian Ministry graduate degree from one of the nation's best value Christian colleges, accessible worldwide. The Master of Education (M.Ed.) non-licensure program at Bryan College is regionally accredited and designed for current teachers or those who have completed an undergraduate teacher education program. The program is delivered entirely online, providing the flexibility to continue teaching full-time while earning your degree. The Master's in Education program credits are approved by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) for use in gaining initial certification and renewing and upgrading existing ACSI certificates. Bryan's exciting strategic plan is designed to accommodate our growing student body and the expanding programs and calls for building new facilities adding programs, faculty, and staff achieving enrollment goals, and increasing the funds for scholarships to maintain and enhance Bryan's place as a premier Christian liberal arts college. 7. Stratton Mountain School was established in 1972. Warren Hellman and Donald Tarinelli founded the school in order for their children to train and compete in high-level alpine skiing without interrupting their high school education. Elite coaches and excellent teachers were recruited to join the new program, and parents provided the housing. As the idea caught on, SMS purchased an old ski lodge at the bottom of the ski area. The school continued to grow in its reputation and in the number of students that attended. In 1999, the school moved to its present location, a new campus on ten beautiful acres just off the base of Stratton Mountain. In 2005, SMS constructed new faculty housing, additional dorm space, and a state-of-the-art athletic facility. In 2014, SMS constructed the Patti Kaltsas Education, Arts & Student Center, and the Air Awareness Center. Today, SMS compares to New England’s finest independent schools as it provides learning, living, and training opportunities second to none. From the beginning, SMS graduates have attended the country’s finest colleges. Many join NCAA teams such as Dartmouth, Middlebury, Williams, Colby, Boston College, Bates, Bowdoin, UVM, and Colorado. More than 100 of our alumni have been named to National Teams, and more than 46 have participated in Olympics Games. Our Olympians include three gold medalists, one silver medalist, two bronze medalists, and several top-10 placements. Due to the energy, dedication, and talent of that pioneering group in 1972, SMS is now a fully accredited institution of 125-135 student-athletes in alpine, nordic, freeskiing, freestyle, and snowboard programs. Stratton Mountain School offers a unique, challenging, and focused curriculum that encourages students to maximize their learning in and outside of the classroom and to use their time efficiently and effectively as they navigate their academic and athletic goals. Our courses are carefully scheduled in order for each student to succeed as a scholar while pursuing their goals outside of the classroom. Students at SMS enjoy average class sizes of ten students, which allows for personalized attention from teachers and individualized approaches to classwork. The SMS curriculum is unique in that it is built around supporting the travel of winter sports athletes. In the winter, classes are conducted in the afternoons, and only core courses (English, math, science, history, and foreign language) are taught during this time. All teachers develop and maintain a robust web-based curriculum, with access to both assignments and teacher feedback easily accessible to traveling student-athletes. All core classes are NCAA approved for students who intend to pursue college-level athletics. The SMS curriculum has been carefully designed to assure the firm foundation of knowledge and skills that have allowed our students to excel in the most challenging colleges and universities in the country. SMS offers Honors courses during the junior and senior years. Honors sections are offered in all junior and senior-level humanities classes and advanced math, science, and language classes. Please note that Honors classes are not weighted differently than their standard counterparts. Students qualify for honors classes with proven academic excellence (typically a grade of 93 or better in the subject area), teacher recommendation, a history of timely and comprehensive homework completion, and class leadership.
