  1. Established in 1970, Springwood School develops the mind, body, and spirit of our students in a college and life preparatory environment. Located near the Alabama/Georgia border, we serve the families of K4-12th grade students from both states and several countries worldwide. Our Christian environment and is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools as well as AdvancED, the world's largest community of educational professionals. As a college preparatory school, Springwood is dedicated to providing quality education in a nurturing environment, focusing on mind, body, and spirit. Springwood School began in 1970 under the direction of the Chattahoochee Valley Educational Foundation. The school began operation with one classroom building and an enrollment of 161 students in grades 1-9. In each of the next three years, another grade was added. In 1971, the school added a gymnasium/classroom building. Growth continued with a high school building in 1973 and the first graduating class of 22 students. Springwood added a kindergarten program and building in 1974 and a stadium in 1981. In 1985 a child development program was added. The addition of the Fine Arts Center during the same year provided more opportunities for students in the areas of drama, art, music, and computer. A Primary School building was built in 1993, with a capacity of 120 children. In 1998 the Child Development Center opened with a capacity of 180 students. Since then, the Springwood family has worked tirelessly to add and update necessary facilities and resources from new baseball/softball fields in 2001 to new buses in 2009. Springwood recently renovated the Primary School building into an International Student Residence. The International House of Springwood opened in August of 2018 and may house 30-36 students and several staff. With separate male and female living areas, the House includes space for dining, studying, and relaxing. Springwood School stresses the mental, social, physical, and spiritual development of all students. The highest ideals of character and integrity help develop students who will become responsible citizens and contribute to society's betterment. Springwood emphasizes academic priorities through the college preparatory curriculum while promoting a self-disciplined, self-reliant approach to studies. A daily devotional is a part of each school day. Special programs emphasizing spiritual and positive character development take place throughout the year. Springwood believes in preparing young women and men to seize their futures with confidence and passion as they go forward to make meaningful contributions to our community and the world.
  2. At Springwood Heath Primary School we believe in giving every child opportunities to reach the highest possible standards and develop the self-confidence and independence that will help them become a responsible, thoughtful and caring member of the community. We hope that our children will develop attitudes to learning that will last them the whole of their lives. At Springwood Heath Primary School we aim to: Provide a happy, caring, safe, secure, and stimulating environment that promotes self-esteem, mutual trust, independence, respect, and positive relationships where everyone is valued. Develop in our school respect for each other and ourselves, for family and the community and environment, and to give parents the confidence to play a full part in their child’s learning. Provide opportunities and have expectations for all children to achieve their highest potential, irrespective of race, gender, creed, or disability. Make the best use of all resources available to the school, including developing links with the wider community, business, and industry. Provide for all children a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum that takes into account their diverse needs, and is enhanced by the interests and enthusiasms of the school community. At Springwood Heath Primary School we take very seriously our responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain. We ensure that the fundamental Shared Values are introduced, discussed, and lived out through the ethos and work of the school. All curriculum areas provide a vehicle for furthering understanding of these concepts and, in particular, our RE, SMSC, PSHE, and Citizenship lessons provide excellent opportunities to deepen and develop understanding. Children embrace these concepts with enthusiasm and demonstrate a good understanding of their application to their own lives. The school makes considerable efforts to ensure children have exposure to a wide experience beyond their local community during which these concepts are shown, for example, sporting events, a range of visits and visitors, use of outdoor education centers, and involvement with community partnerships. Their strong rooted values-based understanding gives them an excellent platform for embracing difference, diversity and enables each child within our unique school to take their place in a Global Society. Our successes have been recognized by awards for Innovation and Best Practice, Reading Quality Mark Gold Standard, Dyslexia Friendly Advanced Status, the Inclusion Charter Mark, Quality in Basic Skills, BECTA ICT Mark, Healthy Schools, and Investor in People. We have also recently been awarded the Gold Artsmark and International School Status. Great News we are thrilled to announce that we are the WINNERS of the Liverpool Echo Active Community Award. We are also delighted to announce that we have won two awards at the Educate Magazine Awards Event, this is another recognition of the fantastic work the school does.
