Silla University, founded in 1954, is a university deeply rooted in the Busan community commemorating its 60th anniversary in 2014. Our University was aptly named Busan Women's University until 1997, for cradling the cultivation of the best professional women talent south of the Han River. Silla is a global-oriented university, which has attracted attention in the fields of internationalization and overseas employment. Our University is also intensely competitive among all domestic universities in various fields, including the marine life industry, health care, social welfare, and arts. We are also invested in students' education, and the Industry-University Collaboration Silla University has developed and implemented a variety of programs related to ecology by taking advantage of our natural campus environment to foster the most productive educational atmosphere for staff and students alike. Silla has taken the lead in green growth education by introducing an eco-education certification program in Korea, Japan, and China. Silla is leaping to the forefront of universities with vibrancy and delight. Based on our range of achievements, we are converting the 60th anniversary of our establishment into the first year of the second advancement through a new paradigm of university development strategies. Our University, a local creative university, will nurture global creative talent on the axis of the Baekyang campus, a landmark in the western area of Busan. Silla University has just completed the first phase of the master plan to build a campus on the site of 438 acres at the foot of Baekyang Mountain and started the second phase of the master plan to secure sufficient supporting facilities that will help prepare the students for the demands of the rapidly changing society. Silla University will soon be a prestigious private university that is recognized internationally as well as domestically. Silla University's mission is to develop competent persons who can pursue truth, creatively improve their knowledge, create a new culture, love humanity, serve society, and lead our country's future. Furthermore, they will contribute to the mutual prosperity of humanity by the passing on of the founder's ideology of philanthropy and education.
