Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia is one of the leading chemical universities of Russia. The University was founded in 1898 as an Industrial College in Moscow. Since its early days of existence, Mendeleev University has been training applied engineers for industrial needs. The University provides training of professionals for the chemical technology branch and scientific research in chemical technology, petrochemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical technologies, nanotechnology and nanoengineering, energy, and resource-efficient technologies, ecology, modern power engineering materials, etc. Mendeleev University has some modern educational buildings, academic and research centers, laboratories, small-scale enterprises, and campuses. The total number of students is about 8000 persons, including more than 550 students from 35 countries. Annual students' acceptance is more than 1000 persons. The scientific potential of the University makes 500 post-graduates and interns, 550 Ph.D. holders, Associate Professors, 220 Doctors of Science, full Professors, 9 Academicians and Correspondent Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 35 Members of the specialized AcademiesDmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia is now approaching its 130th anniversary. This remarkable age inspires reverence and obliges us to keep up with the established traditions. Since its early days of existence, D. Mendeleev University has trained highly qualified engineers for industrial needs. This area of training has retained its utmost importance over the years. The content of the training has undergone a major qualitative shift. The University graduate must be able to deal with the challenges in a comprehensive manner and take care of the research, production, environmental, and personal development issues all at the same time. This is the only way to secure sustainable development. Chemistry is a science that is capable of enhancing progress not only in the chemical industry but also in the entire national economy. Modern high-performance technologies developed within the machine-building, aviation, and space sectors use the innovative materials worked out by our research staff, which by far exceed the conventional ones. We address environmental safety issues and develop low waste, resource, energy-efficient technologies, and innovative energy sources. The role of Russian science increased over the past few years. Now we work in biotechnology, microbiology, nanotechnology, and several other research areas. Our University has colossal responsibility, first and foremost, in personnel training for the needs of the science-intensive technologies, nuclear power engineering, and defense industry. Specialists trained by our University are capable of supporting the full production cycle at a chemical plant. Lately, we've been confronted with the task of training managers, sociologists, industrial environmentalists, and IT professionals in addition to chemical engineers. We do provide such training now. The Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (MUCTR) joined the Bologna Process to build a single European Higher Education Area and switched to multi-level training, introducing Bachelor and Master's degrees while retaining the traditional professional training procedures. The University has adopted an innovative development strategy to enhance research, teaching, and managerial activities. Our University is home to the Methodology Association, which deals with educational issues in chemical technology and biotechnology. MR is responsible for preparing educational standards for higher school establishments, developing the manuals, study aids, and academic programs for high schools and colleges. View full university -
