Welcome to the Rivermount College website. Captured on these pages is a glimpse of the many opportunities available to students from Prep to Year 12. As a co-educational Christian College, we aim to provide a balanced and holistic education for students of all ages and abilities that will encourage a love of life-long learning and provide a solid foundation for their growth and development into adulthood. As a school community, we pride ourselves on providing a warm and family-focused environment. At Rivermount College, we believe that our students' education is a partnership between the school and the home. This partnership enables the College to provide a stable and consistent environment where students can grow – intellectually, physically, spiritually, and emotionally – under the guidance and care of their families and a committed group of Christian teachers. 'Realising the Potential Within' is the essence of a Rivermount College education. Each day we strive to encourage all students to embrace challenges and overcome obstacles to achieve their personal best, not only academically but in preparation for their role as active contributors to the future of our nation. Our Educational Aims and Objectives focus on providing students with a supportive learning environment that embraces a pastoral care network of respect, pride, and encouragement. The most significant value we share as a community is to facilitate an environment of acceptance and understanding. Our school motto, 'Perseverance, Integrity, and Excellence,' encompasses the standards and values that all students are encouraged to achieve in their daily pursuits. In May 1991, well before building construction had even begun, over five hundred people gathered on a dairy farm at Yatala to celebrate the Foundation of Rivermount College. Visualizing the College was a real challenge that day, as the building locations were marked only with stakes and surveyors' tape. A happy carnival atmosphere was provided with colorful marquees, while the performance of the Impala Dance Group entertained the crowds with their dances and music from the Dreamtime. Dr. Neville Bonner AO unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the founding of the College. Rivermount College is a non-denominational Christian Primary and Secondary school with the Bible being the integrating factor in all learning and activities, recognizing that God is the giver of all truth. The students' skills and attitudes are developed and used for the glory of God and service to others. This involves developing a Christian world view that equips students to live an authentic Christian life in the context of Australian society. The College, therefore, aims to educate the whole person, that is, to integrate the spiritual, mental, physical, and social aspects of training from a Biblical perspective.
