President University is a 100% English-speaking higher education institution in Indonesia, which was established to become a research and development center in the region and set a new benchmark in Indonesian higher education. Specifically, the university was formed to create an institution of learning, which would prepare the future leaders of industry and society by giving them the skills and experiences necessary to excel upon graduation. According to one of the founders of President University and also the Chairman of Jababeka Group, Mr. Setyono Djuandi Darmono, President University was built for two reasons: to become a research and development center and to set a new benchmark in Indonesian higher education. The founders of President University laid down the foundation and groundwork to ensure that President University will develop into a great learning institution where students from all parts of the world can acquire knowledge and develop into useful yet responsible citizens and future leaders. President University is strategically located in Jababeka Education Park in Kota Jababeka, just a 45-minute drive to Jakarta, Indonesia. The Jababeka Industrial Estate is one of the largest and integrated industrial areas in South East Asia and home of 1,700 multinational companies from 30 countries, i.e., USA, CANADA, Germany, France, UK, the Netherlands, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia, surrounds it. The companies, amongst the others, are L’Oreal, Unilever, Samsung, Mattel, ICI Paint, and Kraft, can be leveraged as a “living laboratory” for our students and faculty members to develop practical solutions for real-life companies, and also serve as a limitless pool of internship/on-the-job training opportunities for the students. As a relatively young university with about 5,000 total students, not only are the classes conducted in English to instill global perspectives and improve competitiveness, but President University is also equipped with an international-standard curriculum that was prepared and developed by world-class academics. This is in line with the university’s vision to become a world-class university that produces leaders in their respective fields and communities. The Office of the President shall be the embodiment of the Filipino people’s highest aspiration for a government, one that promotes and sustains an environment of peace and security, inclusive growth, public accountability, genuine compassion, and meaningful change towards a just social order. The Office of the President shall be fully responsive to the specific needs and requirements of the President as Head of State and Government, Chief Executive, and Commander in Chief. To provide administrative, advisory, consultative and other support services to the President in the latter’s exercise of his/her powers and functions as Head of State and the Executive Branch. The executive powers of the President under the 1987 Constitution from which the Office of the President mandate emanates, includes among others, the President’s power of control over all the executive departments, bureaus and offices, and the chief executive departments, bureaus and offices, and the Chief Executive’s Constitutional duty to ensure that the laws are faithfully executed. Based on said executive powers of the President, the OP Proper would perform the following vital/core functions: Please respond to the specific needs and requirements of the President to achieve the purposes and objectives of the Office and the other agencies under it, which include those under the chairmanship of the President, those under the supervision and control of the President, those under the supervision and control/administrative supervision of the OP, those attached to it for policy and program coordination, and those not placed by law or order creating them under any special department Provide advisory or consultative services to the President in such fields and under such conditions as the President may determine Provide technical and administrative support on matters concerning development and management, general government administration and internal administration and, Provide direct services to the President and, for this purpose, attend to functions and matters that are personal and pertain to the First Family.
