  1. We are a Nursery and Pre-Preparatory school for children aged two to seven. We have a long-standing reputation in our community for providing the very best in early years education. Our dedicated and experienced team strives to ensure that all children in our care flourish within a happy and nurturing environment, giving a firm foundation to the start of their educational journey. Set within two beautiful Victorian houses, The Villa retains the feel of a family home and is welcoming, light, bright, and specifically designed for children. Our outdoor space is unique for the area and gives children the freedom to play and run around, greatly enriching their learning experience. Our aim is for The Villa to be a ‘home from home for the children in our care and this is particularly true in the Nursery where many of our children are learning to separate from their families for the first time. Children at The Villa learn through play and activities which stimulate their natural curiosity in an atmosphere of encouragement and praise. The Villa Nursery has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted and our curriculum is carefully planned to meet the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We nurture an enthusiasm for knowledge and aim to develop each child’s confidence in their ability to become successful learners. Each child has a designated key worker who, in partnership with parents, responds to the needs of each child. They learn how to solve problems, make decisions, experiment, predict, plan, and question in a range of contexts. The Nursery provides the ideal preparation for school as children are encouraged to explore their creativity and imagination, make friends and share in a fun and caring environment. This area is fundamental to successful learning. Children are provided with different situations where they can follow instructions and communicate effectively with each other, within a stimulating and language-rich environment. Listening to stories and rhymes is an important part of every day. The children learn to sit quietly and discuss the stories afterward, re-telling them in their own words and talking about their experiences. Our Values: Caring & friendly environment Self-esteem & confidence Good behavior Education & care Encouragement & praise Personal Development Communication Our pre-school children also have the opportunity to participate in French and Spanish lessons. This allows the children to explore the use of different languages and cultures. The Villa Pre-Prep is a small and friendly school with children joining us for Reception, Year One and Year Two. We believe that school should be a positive, happy, and stimulating experience where the needs of each child are respected. We recognize that the early years at nursery and school are a crucial period of development in childhood and as a result, our guiding ethos is one of support and care. At the same time, we equip children with all the tools they need educationally, emotionally, and socially as they prepare to leave us at age seven. Children at The Villa benefit from our high teacher-pupil ratio which gives us the freedom to extend and enrich the curriculum and study topics in greater depth, with a key focus on pastoral care. Every child is treated as an individual, and we have an open and honest approach to communication with parents. We achieve excellent results by remaining true to our beliefs and supporting every child to develop talents and passions to excel in the classroom and their future learning journey. Pre-Preparatory Scholl Values: Meeting potential Excellent teaching Self-confidence & independence Enthusiasm for learning Reception builds upon the curriculum covered in the Nursery and is the final year of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We take a cross-curricular approach to inspire the children and promote deep and memorable learning. We use a themed approach, with key texts at the heart of our themes and with outings to inspire and motivate learning. We have a creative approach to learning in Year 1 and 2 whilst also covering the skills of the National Curriculum. With small class sizes, we can provide the children with broader learning experiences that promote curiosity and enthusiasm. The Villa opened in 1997 as a small nursery with just ten children on the ground floor of Studley Villa, as it was originally known. Increasing numbers gradually led to the conversion of the first floor into nursery classrooms and in 2001 The Villa expanded further upwards and the Pre-Preparatory school was born. In 2012, in a bid to meet the growing local demand for nursery places, The Villa expanded to include our adjacent property at 56 Lyndhurst Grove, thereby doubling the number of places available. The building underwent a huge modernization. Architect-designed, the building retains only its original façade with purpose-built, ultra-modern, well-lit, spacious classroom facilities at the rear. Our team in the Nursery now cares for 124 children daily and we teach approximately 48 children in the Prep-Prep. The Villa attracts many families from the local area, mainly through word of mouth. Demand for places at The Villa continues to be exceptionally high which is testimony to our success in supporting pupils as they take their first steps in their early year's education.
  2. The Hall School & Nursery is situated in a charming listed building The Grange Country House on the Rickmansworth Road in Northwood. The school provides a cozy and homely atmosphere in which the pupils (aged 1 – 7 years) feel happy and comfortable to learn and love education. Our class sizes are small so that every child can expect one-to-one attention and teaching, daily. We have specialist teachers for PE, Dance, French, and Music. We have various classrooms, ICT, and art rooms as well as a soft surface playground, outdoor sports arenas, and beautiful gardens for the pupils to enjoy. Each term the pupils go on educational school trips and enjoy taking part in school performances, events, and parties. The Hall School is the right setting for the child. Children are born to learn and are naturally inquisitive. The Hall School aims to provide a stimulating environment in which our enthusiastic teachers act as exemplary role models from which the children learn. Often children’s early learning ability is underestimated but we believe that, with the right approach, anything is possible. At The Hall School, children work in small groups, with a dedicated teacher and progress at their rate. By liaising with parents, individual needs and learning styles are identified, such that every child can achieve both their academic and social potential. The Hall School is a multi-faith and multi-cultural school where all staff and pupils show respect and care for one another at all times, regardless of race, color, ability, or creed. Because The Hall School knows that every single child is different, it offers each of its pupils – from Preschool through to 7+ – an individualized approach to education. This enables each pupil to have an agreed focus, set by their teacher or key worker in partnership with the child’s parents so that every pupil is encouraged to achieve their own personal best by identifying their particular learning needs. Targets are reviewed termly and discussed with parents at every parent interview. Class sizes are small to ensure children are taught at their own pace and that we can differentiate effectively to engage every child. Various learning styles are used to challenge each type of learner and to promote an inquisitive nature. The Hall School curriculum has been developed over several years to give the children an advance in academics alongside varied and interesting topics all promoted through fun-based activities and experiences. The Hall School uses a positive praise system to help establish a respectful and encouraging environment. Children are praised for their positive behavior, achievements, and social empathy prompting peers to follow this lead. The older children are encouraged to make good choices and to self-solve problems during the day. Merit badges are awarded weekly for those children that demonstrate friendly and positive behavior. We recognize that parents are the most important people for children’s early development. Close working between the school and parents is vital for supporting children’s learning. We aim to ensure regular communication with parents, keeping them informed of their child’s progress and involving them when setting individual education plans. We invite parents to join us at the beginning of each academic year to share the curriculum, structure, and working methods of each class and ensure that parents can fully support their children’s learning in the home environment. Teachers are available daily to discuss any needs as they arise as well as the regular parents' evenings and end-of-year reports. The Hall School strives to create strong links with a variety of organizations within the local area. The school works closely with the Hillingdon early years advisory team, service providers, places of worship, local shops, charities, and more. In doing so the children are given a chance to gain practical knowledge of the world around them, where they live and how a neighborhood works together. We also try to emulate this community spirit through our parent and pupils relations, with regular opportunities to get together and share achievements and ideas.
  3. The Avenue Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School is an independent private school in Highgate bordering Hampstead, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, and Finchley. It was founded in 1977 and became a member of the IAPS (Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools) in 2009. The school is situated in a quiet, residential street in Highgate, conveniently placed for easy access to the tube and local busses. It occupies a large, rambling Victorian house with a very large, spacious garden. The priority of our non-denominational School is the happiness and well-being of every child within a secure, friendly, and nurturing environment. We believe that children are our most valuable resource for the future and we are committed to providing an exciting and stimulating learning environment where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their potential. We achieve this by the introduction of a wide, varied timetable of extracurricular activities designed to inspire and challenge all our pupils. Music is an important part of the School’s provision with singing and the learning of a stringed instrument incorporated into the daily timetable. Drama, French, swimming, football, yoga, and ICT are all part of the curriculum at present. Offering a wide variety of timetabled activities available to all children regardless of their gender, race, religion, or family background benefits children in many ways. Our commitment to encouraging self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-esteem is underlined by the provision of these extracurricular activities. We also encourage independence of thought, the development of social and interpersonal skills, and a responsible attitude towards property and the environment. At The Avenue Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School, we are committed to providing the highest quality education for your child, inspiring their imagination and creativity within a caring and nurturing environment. Children are supported and challenged to reach their full potential in all areas, both academic and personal. Innovative teaching, an outstanding learning environment, and endless opportunities for adventure and discovery make The Avenue Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School a truly exceptional place for your child to begin their education. From the fun and creative play of early years learning, to the nurturing and preparing of children for the world beyond Year 2, The Avenue Nursery and Pre-Preparatory offers each child a unique and memorable learning adventure. The Avenue Nursery was founded by Mary Fysh and first registered in 1977, by the London Borough of Haringey, as a small child-minding group of 6 children. As the years progressed, the School outgrew its location in her home and moved into its current premises in September 1989 with a roll of 65 children aged from 2 1/2 years to 5 years. At that time, all children left the School after their Reception Year. The School was registered with OfSTED and was inspected regularly. A substantial building program was started in July 2000. A Hall, classroom, and library were added to the building, enabling us to extend our age range to include children to 7 1/2 years in Years 1 and 2. The School registered with the Department of Education as an Independent School in August 2004 and the first intake of Year 1 children commenced in September 2004. The following year the DfE inspected the provision at the school and confirmed its registration as an Independent School. OFSTED confirmed that the School was no longer required to be registered with the organization and the Ofsted registration was surrendered. The youngest children in the school are those that join us in the term they turn 3. They join a small class of approximately 8 children in the Autumn term. The class size increases in January and again in the Summer term. They enjoy the benefit of small class size in a nurturing environment, a gentle introduction to their school life. The children engage in a range of activities designed to develop their emerging skills in areas such as fine and gross motor control, social awareness, speaking and listening ability, and independence. This is valuable preparation for Morning Nursery the following September. We take the children throughout the year on stimulating educational school trips as they are a vital part of a child's education. The trips reinforce areas of learning and the enthusiasm it can bring a topic is immeasurable. The added benefit of important life skills like traveling safely as a group is highly valuable. These trips vary from year to year but may include trips to museums, galleries, and even the theatre. At The Avenue Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School, we aim to identify and encourage children who excel in one area of, or across the curriculum as a whole. The Avenue Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School is a non–selective school and as such we have a community of children who have varying skills and abilities. Some require additional support therefore we have a committed learning support team in-house that consists of our SENCO (specialist learning support teacher) and speech and language therapist. We believe early identification and intervention are the keys to future success. We have different levels of support that we can offer children that might require extra help. This ranges from in-class strategies, small group interventions, and one-to-one specialist teaching.
