      1. A community school in the true sense, the school is situated at the heart of the rural village of Penrhyn-coch and serves the children and families of the village itself and the surrounding area of Trefeurig. Whether participating in the Penrhyn-coch Eisteddfod, The Village Show, contributing to the Tinker Community Newspaper, or supporting Penrhyn-coch Football Club, we are grateful for the opportunities our locality provides to nurture respect and affection amongst pupils for their home area. Working in close partnership with Ysgol Penllwyn Capel Bangor, under the leadership of the same headteacher, an enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff, parents and governors endeavor to ensure enriched learning opportunities and enthusiasm for learning amongst pupils. We aim to nurture the whole child and to create a safe, happy, and Welsh environment that develops future Welsh citizens who take pride in their heritage. Ysgol Penrhyn-coch is an active member of the Welsh Network of Healthy Schools Schemes. A healthy school is one that actively promotes and protects the physical, mental and social health and wellbeing of its community through positive action by such means of policy, strategic planning, and staff development, about its curriculum, ethos, physical environment, and community relations. Our aim as a school is to foster happy and confident pupils who respect themselves and others. The school’s purpose is to promote enriched learning environments and experiences appropriate to the age, abilities, and interests of pupils with the ultimate aim of nurturing pupils who will be responsible citizens in the Wales of the future. This means: Enabling all children to develop to their full potential Ensuring that all children can reason, solve problems and face new challenges. Providing opportunities for pupils to gain pride in their heritage Developing in each child the ability to show compassion for others General aims of the school. Every child should feel happy and safe in a homely atmosphere. Every child should have the opportunity to develop to their full potential in all aspects of the curriculum. The school should introduce an inspiring education that motivates pupils to learn. The school should promote and develop bilingual pupils. The school should promote contact and cooperation with parents. The school should encourage respect for property and other people. The school should stimulate contact with the community.
