      1. The College is a subsidiary of Human Investment Corporation, a Kuwaiti-based company, and its ultimate parent company is Kuwaiti Finance House. Majan was established in 1995 as the first private sector College in Oman and has continued to be at the forefront of higher education in the Sultanate ever since. In December 2017, Majan achieved full institutional accreditation from the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) and maintained its reputation as a trailblazer by being the first higher education institution in the country. Majan is located on a single campus in Darsait, home to a multi-cultural academic community with more than a hundred staff from various countries and a student population of over 3,500. Majan is an accredited college of the University of Bedfordshire, UK, and operates under the Ministry of Higher Education's supervision, Oman. It offers undergraduate programs in Business Administration with seven pathways, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Computer and Internet Applications, Networking, and English Language. These are delivered in both full time and part-time mode. The Master programs offered include Business Administration, Computer Sciences, and International Human Resources Management from the University of Bedfordshire. To be a leading University that provides higher education of international standards in a dynamic environment that values cultural diversity integrates technology, fosters knowledge creation, and builds sustainable skills for employment and lifelong learning." The vision is in line with Oman's economic vision. It aims to develop a university environment of international standards that attracts and provides for students and staff who are keen to be part of a rigorous and enriching educational experience aimed at fostering knowledge and sustainable employment skills. It also emphasizes Majan's determination to significantly improve its facilities and resources in qualitative and quantitative terms such that it is comparable with international standards. The vital strategic themes underlying the mission statement are: To build a knowledge-based learning organization. To educate students and cultivate their capacity for life-long learning. To strive for excellence in learning, teaching, and research. To develop the creative potential of all staff members. In line with its mission, MCUC is committed to developing and sustaining an organizational culture that supports continuous learning and improvement. This requires a learning environment where all staff and students strive for excellence and fulfill their potential and can be achieved only if staff and students are encouraged to participate safely and effectively. Hence all staff is expected to demonstrate behaviors that support the following values which represent our core priorities concerning the institutional culture: Respect for all individuals Diversity and inclusiveness Co-operation and teamwork Continuous improvement Transparency and openness Service to the community Creativity and Innovation At Majan, students have a voice, are appreciated, valued, and considered vital in the institution's mechanisms. Nurturing, educating, and equipping graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills to be self-reliant, creative& innovative, and decision-makers from the bane of the College's endeavors, especially in today's competitive world. The College's Information Technology infrastructure, resources, curricula, teaching strategies, and virtual learning platform-Majan Online Virtual Environment (MOVE) are under constant review and designed to make learning fun, contemporary, and convenient.
