The campus is located in west-central Illinois in Jacksonville, about 30 miles west of the state capital of Springfield. The College was founded in 1846 by devout and erudite Methodist clergymen, several of Jacksonville's prominent citizens, and continues to build strong relationships with both the Methodist Church and the city of Jacksonville this day. A MacMurray College education starts with a core curriculum of courses that provide a foundation for majors to prepare MacMurray graduates for rewarding careers, further education, and the unexpected challenges that arise throughout their professional lives. MacMurray College is a four-year, multi-disciplined, private college that emphasizes creative problem-solving and making critical decisions to prepare its graduates for the workplace. Located in safe and charming Jacksonville, IL, MacMurray is among the least expensive private colleges in the state. In a national survey of more than 600 colleges and universities, MacMurray seniors felt the campus environment was more supportive. Faculty were more attentive to their needs than students at other institutions. At MacMurray College, you matter. MacMurray College Academic Achievement Scholarships reward your hard work, regardless of financial need. These scholarships are available to new students seeking on-campus, full-time enrollment to the College for the 2018-19 academic year. On-campus residency is required to maintain the scholarship level. Scholarships are awarded at the time of admission, and amounts are not adjusted for increases or decreases in GPA. All scholarships are renewable for up to 4 years. The combined value of all internal MacMurray College scholarships and grants cannot exceed the cost of tuition. Transfer students with fewer than 24 credit hours will be considered for scholarships based on high school academic performance. MacMurray College's Office of Disability Services strives to transform students' lives and foster growth by providing both an environment and opportunities for students with disabilities that support and encourage them to become confident, self-aware and self-accepting individuals. MacMurray offers traditional, blended, and online courses. Traditional undergraduate students can choose from MacMurray's varied majors and pre-professional programs to study on campus. Online courses are available in specific areas of study for students who wish to earn a degree through an online classroom's convenience. MacMurray is a residential campus, which means you will be at the center of the action.
