  1. Sekolah Global Indo-Asia (SGIA) was founded in 1998 to serve the educational needs of the children of the national and international community living in and around Batam, Indonesia. Today, SGIA accepts students from Pre-School through the 12th Grade. It is a caring, secure environment in which students can develop their skills, confidence, and creativity that will help them succeed academically. SGIA is the only International Baccalaureate World School in Batam offering the PYP (Primary Years Programme), DP (Diploma Programme), and authorized as a Cambridge International Examinations School. It aims to provide a comprehensive and balanced program that focuses on acquiring a wide range of significant knowledge, developing essential skills, fostering positive attitudes, and providing opportunities for service and love for humankind. Sekolah Global Indo-Asia's (SGIA) mission is to foster a life-long love of learning to develop competent, respectful, compassionate, and knowledgeable students who have the confidence and integrity to fulfill their dreams, strive for the betterment of mankind and achieve their potential as responsible world citizens. Sekolah Global Indo-Asia (SGIA) places the students at the center of the teaching-learning process, embraces the diversity of its students, parents, teachers, and non-teaching staff, and explores the opportunities to respect and learn from a variety of cultures, attitudes, beliefs, and experiences. The school ensures the integration of best research and practices from different national curricula. Each school day incorporates citizenship training, character development, personal values, and ethics. Emphasis is placed on instilling respect for citizens of all nations and specifically the heritage of Indonesia. Students graduating from SGIA are well-prepared for entry into English-speaking universities throughout the world. SGIA has a modern purpose built facilities and spacious grounds. The Early Childhood Center has a spacious classroom, a multipurpose room, a large veranda, and a playground. All classrooms are modern and air-conditioned. The environment is designed for our youngest students from Pre-K to K3 and is separate from the rest of the school. The Primary building also has a spacious air-conditioned classroom, including art, music, science, and IT laboratories. It also has a very well-stocked library. The building is on two floors with an open-air courtyard in the center. The Secondary facility also has a spacious air-conditioned classroom, a science and IT laboratory, and their resource library. At this moment, we also build a new secondary building. The school has a large covered gymnasium and large canteen. Both areas are covered but open to fresh air. The school has a large grassed soccer pitch and a smaller grassed area for other sports and activities.
