With the restructuring of French universities imposed by the law of November 12, 1968, three universities are created in Lille University of Science and Technology (Lille 1), the University of Law and Health (Lille 2) and University of Human Sciences, Letters and Arts (Lille 3). In 1974, the university moved to Lille 3 Angellier rue de Lille to the site of Villeneuve d'Ascq, Lille, shared with 2. In October 1974, Lille 3 students discovered for the first time their new campus in Villeneuve d' Ascq, district of Pont de Bois. In 1994, the Faculty of Law left Villeneuve d'Ascq, providing the opportunity for Lille 3 to restructure its space. Today, rich in buildings A and B, its extension, its modular buildings, and its remote locations, the university has ample space, it will continue to develop over the years to accommodate at best its entire university community, students, teachers, staff, French or foreign. The University of Lille occupies a strategic position at the heart of Northern Europe. It boasts an outstanding cultural and scientific heritage that is etched into the Hauts-de-France Region's history. It has established itself as a critical player in the region for training, research and innovation, and commitment to social issues.
