We are sponsored by the Dominican Friars (Order of Preachers) from the Province of St. Albert the Great. Our inspiration comes from the preaching of Saint Dominic, the teaching of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the leadership of Saint Catherine of Siena, the collaborative service of Saint Martin de Porres, and Saint Rose of Lima artistry of Blessed Fra Angelico. Since Fenwick's founding in 1929, we have equipped young people with the tools necessary for successful, meaningful, and faith-filled lives. In this, we continue to rely on a dedicated and highly credentialed faculty—men and women, lay and religious—committed to forming the next generation of society's leaders. The Fenwick graduate should know the traditions, doctrines, and practices of the Catholic Church and continue to participate in the Church's sacramental life. The same would be expected of non-Catholic graduates concerning their traditions, having had the opportunity to reflect on their religious commitments and traditions against the background of the study of the Dominican Catholic tradition. This foundation will enable the graduate to sift ideas and beliefs for insights into truth and accept a personal relationship with God. The Fenwick graduate should demonstrate intellectual competence through critical thinking, careful listening, and effective written and oral communication. A Fenwick graduate should respect one's field of study and other fields of study and appreciate learning as a lifelong endeavor.
