Ysgol y Ddwylan strives to develop a safe online environment, that promotes learning across the curriculum both within and outside the school. We will vibrantly embrace new technological developments to ensure this vision is fulfilled. Ysgol Y Ddwylan serves the small market town of Newcastle Emlyn as well as the neighboring villages of Adpar and Llandyfriog. The school provides an education for children between the ages of 3 – 11. In Ysgol y Ddwylan children, parents, staff, and governors work together to create a happy, productive, and stimulating school. Ysgol y Ddwylan is a safe and caring community where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential and to become a valued and responsible member of the community. Provide learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual children at the school so that they reach their full potential. Create an environment that promotes the moral, cultural and physical development of the pupils. Ensure equal opportunities for all pupils Appreciate every individual’s contribution Develop confident independent learners Promote the development of pupils’ key skills Ensure that pupils’ views are heard Ensure that pupils’ enjoy learning We aim to provide a caring environment, which will promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, and physical development of your child. We hope to provide a wide range of balanced learning activities for all children to help them grow into independent and responsible people. Pupils are taught the importance of caring for themselves as part of the school's curriculum. This includes the importance of eating healthy food, the care o teeth, and the dangers of smoking, drug, and alcohol abuse. There is an opportunity for all pupils to buy fruit at break time. Children are encouraged to drink water regularly. Every child in the foundation phase is offered the opportunity to receive free milk. The children receive lessons in PSE. Often this happens during circle time when the opportunity arises to discuss and develop skills related to Self Awareness and their awareness of others. View full school
