As the University of the Cordilleras, Baguio Colleges was earlier known, pioneered in tertiary education in the mountain highlands of the Cordillera region amidst devastation in and around Baguio City after the Second World War. Despite a pessimistic outlook and the bleak prospects are pervading the climate of any undertaking at that time, Atty. Benjamin R. Salvosa envisioned Baguio City as a university town. With such a vision, he undauntedly pursued a noble mission by founding a college. The University's College of Law is rated among the top law schools in the country, having graduated bar topnotchers in 2007. The Colleges of Engineering, Criminology, Information, and Computer Science and Teacher Education have gained recognition among the top colleges in the region and the country. The College of Nursing, although newly-opened, has already shown an optimistic outlook with its exceptional performance in its first-ever nursing board examinations. The future looks bright for the University of the Cordilleras, and we are glad to be blessed to serve these mountain highlands of the Philippines. (M.D.M.) and Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) graduates and secondarily to Non-MBA and non-MPA graduates who occupy managerial positions or graduates who are groomed to become managers of organizations or institutions. It is also aimed at the conduct of intensive research in the field of management. Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (Ph.D. in B.A.) is intended to give special business administration training in Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Public Administration (M.P.A.) graduates and secondarily to Non-MBA and non-MPA graduates who occupy managerial positions or graduates who are groomed to become managers of organizations or institutions. It is also aimed at the conduct of intensive research in the field of business administration. Doctor of Philosophy in Language Education is intended to give intensive and preparation for English Teachers, Learning Area Coordinators, and Department Heads in English teaching in the elementary, secondary, and tertiary levels. It is also geared towards intensive research in the field of language education. Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management program is designed to provide the knowledge, research skills, attitude, and values relevant to teachers and school administrators' academic development and those wanting to master the craft of an educational supervisor. This course deals with the different facets of school management. This academic degree program shall develop creative, innovative, dynamic, and productive school leaders willing to institute transformative educational processes. The Master Public Administration (M.B.A.) program aims to prepare the student for top executive positions in business and industry by (1) providing him with the conceptual tools used in business and industrial management (2) training him in the application of techniques for analysis and decision-making, and (3) training him in the application of principles of leadership in business and industry. M.D.M. is a 39-unit program designed for those who work in a development-oriented organization, program, or project. It is intended for those who want to harness their professional management skills in managing dynamic organizational and development contexts. Offered on a full-time and part-time basis, M.D.M. puts into proper context the interplay among the public, business, and non-profit sectors. Any individual who works with the government, with a non-government organization, or a business firm, will benefit most from this program. The course provides an in-depth analysis of the challenges besetting the public and development managers. It is meant to capacitate individuals or development managers further to understand and apply development principles drawing from social sciences, administrative sciences, and other disciplines. The program also aims to provide inputs on management concepts, principles, approaches, and strategies that will help one's understanding, analyzing, assessing, and managing development processes in a development context. It enables students to develop a more significant commitment to serving the disadvantaged's interests and, ultimately, to improve their quality of life. Conceived in terms of specialized training and preparation for research in the marked fields of concentration of Biology, Educational Management, Elementary Education, English, Mathematics, Pre-elementary Education, Physical Education, and Social Studies. The Master of Arts (M.A.) The program aims to provide teachers and administrators in the non-education field in-depth knowledge and research experiences and the educational background essential to efficient teaching. The Master in Information Technology is under the consortium program of other universities in the country, which is offered under a scholarship program by the Commission on Higher Education funded by the Higher Education Development Program Faculty Development Program (CHED HEDP FDP). The program of Master of Science in Civil Engineering intends to help develop civil engineers to become specialists in the fields of structural, water resources management, and geotechnical engineering by way of advanced technical knowledge and skills gained and by the contract of intensive research. The degree's primary requirement, which is a master's thesis, aims to provide students the research skills either in the explanation and exploration or application of the theories and principles. To fill in the technical power requirements and leadership needs of private and public sectors in the country is the ultimate objective of the course.
