- Ysgol Comins Coch is situated in the village of Comins Coch, a mile outside the town of Aberystwyth in Mid Wales. Our school cares for each child as an individual. We aim to create a warm friendly environment which will enable every child and every member of staff to develop his or her potential to the full. Comins Coch Community School is an LEA Maintained Primary School within the Ceredigion local authority. We have enthusiastic staff who work hard to continually raise standards and improve the school. We are very proud of the high standards which the school has achieved which ensure that our children succeed academically as well as in extracurricular activities such as sports. Every year we have many visitors to the school and frequently receive unsolicited comments about the learning environment, behavior, and relationships within the school. The school is justifiably proud of its reputation for concern for the individual child, both in terms of welfare and educational provision. We hold with the belief that every child is entitled to the highest quality educational experience that can be provided. The last inspection of the school by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate (Estyn) took place in the school year 2011-12. Their report, which is available on our website, is very complimentary of the work of the school. We were awarded the highest possible grade of Excellent and with prospects of improvement also Excellent. As flattering as this report is, we are more proud of the way our children work, play, and learn together. Our success is best measured in the way the children learn, show respect for one another, and enjoy being part of our school community. We wish your child a happy introduction to the school and successful progress through his/her time with us. We strongly believe that your involvement in this process is crucial and we provide frequent opportunities to keep you informed about the ways we are working with your child.
