  1. Welcome to St. Cleopas Church of England Primary School. We are a happy, inclusive, Christian school located at the heart of the Dingle near central Liverpool. We are lucky to have wonderful views of the River Mersey and beautiful grounds for our children to play and learn in. Our ethos is based on finding ways of understanding each other and different cultures and finding different ways of speaking to God and learning to know Him. Our school has close links with our community and parish and enjoys the benefit of dedicated and talented staff, supportive parents, and experienced, hard-working governors. We are an Eco-Friendly School. Primary school is the start of an amazing journey in a child’s life, and we believe in being a haven where every child is valued, listened to, and supported. Our motto, written by the children, is Live, Laugh, Learn – these are all important aspects of growing up with a healthy attitude to life. We want our children and every person connected to our school to leave us with a thorough understanding of their abilities and the tools to help them succeed in the future. Our Awards: Liverpool Dyslexia Friendly School, Fairtrade, Investors in People, Liverpool Inclusion Charter Mark, Activemark, Arts Council, Quality Mark. St Cleopas Receives Highest Eco Award. St Cleopas recently became one of only 1,415 schools in the U.K. to receive the prestigious Green Flag Award from Eco-Schools. Eco-Schools is an international award program that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life. They felt that in our school children are the driving force behind Eco-Schools – they lead the eco-committee and help carry out an audit to assess the environmental performance of their school. Through consultation with the rest of the school and the wider community, it is the pupils that decide which environmental themes they want to address and how they are going to do it. We have received the National Healthy Schools Award. We want all of our pupils to be healthy and achieve in school and life. The National Healthy Schools Programme has four core themes: Personal, social, and health education - Healthy eating - Physical activity - Emotional health and wellbeing, including bullying. Each theme includes several criteria that we had to fulfill to achieve National Healthy School Status. Early Years Foundation Stage consists of the Nursery and Reception class. Within this department, an Early Years curriculum is followed focusing on the children’s development in seven areas of learning. They are: Personal, Social, and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication + Language, Mathematics, Literacy, Expressive Arts and Design, Understanding the World.
