Chubu University was founded in 1938, when Professor Kohei Miura, the first President of CU, founded a technical institution in Nagoya. Later in 1964, the Chubu Institute of Technology (CIT) was established in Kasugai. Then, in 1984, CIT became a university and changed its name to Chubu University. Recently, Chubu University celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014. Chubu University and two high schools (Chubu University Daiichi High School and Chubu University Haruhigaoka High School), and one junior high school (Chubu University Haruhigaoka Junior High School), is governed by Chubu University Educational Corporation, which celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2018. Chubu University has three campuses, including the main campus in Kasugai, one in Nagoya, and another in Ena City, Gifu Prefecture. Chubu University, Kasugai（CUK）has seven Colleges: Engineering, Business Administration and Information Science, International Studies, Humanities, Bioscience and Biotechnology, Life and Health Sciences, and Contemporary Education, as well as six Graduate Schools: Engineering, Business Administration and Information Science, Global Humanics, Bioscience and Biotechnology, Life and Health Sciences, and Education. Chubu University, Nagoya （CUN）offers evening classes, while Chubu University, Ena（CUE）is a suburban campus designed to accommodate short-term programs, such as athletic training camps and orientations first-year students. Chubu University will continue to be a place of learning for students, parents, professors, researchers, staff members, graduates, neighbors, and visitors. Chubu University provides an opportunity to come together to learn from each other. Together, we make Chubu University a great and comfortable place. And we will make CU a HUB of knowledge as the name CHUBU University shows.
