As the Ministry of Education considers higher education's internationalization as an essential assessment criterion, Ming Chuan has an ambitious vision of becoming a world-class university. Ming Chuan University promotes adherence to the national motto of "Faithfulness, Piety, Benevolence, Compassion, Sincerity, Righteousness, Harmony, Peace" along with the typical school motto of "Politeness, Righteousness, Humility, Nobility." Also, MCU has adopted the motto of "Honesty, Sincerity, Humility, Determination." Overall, this supports the spirit of "Enduring reliably, working hard to the end." In line with the trend toward globalized competition in higher education, Ming Chuan University has established International College to provide English-taught degree programs and promote campus internationalization and inter-university cooperation since 2001-2. Those courses are aimed to nurture students with a broad worldview and nurture them to be competitive international talents equipped with a broad worldview. To reach out to international education, the International College has devoted significant efforts to recruit international students and promote its curriculum quality. In the coming years, each department/graduate school will join the effort to strengthen education's internationalization. The university provides four years of English courses to ensure students establish a solid foundation in the universal language. Each faculty member should be able to conduct instruction in English. To better serve international students, administration staff must be able to communicate in English. Understanding that the internationalization of education brings the challenge of cross-cultural communication, it is our responsibility to provide international students with cross-cultural adjustment counseling services, creating a friendly campus environment. Thus, to create a global impact, attaining overseas accreditation is crucial to affirm the quality of education at MCU. This significant breakthrough will position us well to cope with the challenges ahead and establish a landmark on Asia's higher education horizon. Our educational principle insists on theory-based, application-oriented education, which coordinates professional courses, utility courses (four years of English courses and three years of information technology courses), and general education to ensure all our graduates benefit from theory-based, application-oriented education. We implement holistic education to nurture students' characters through seminars, graduation thesis, graduation project design, strict discipline, and diligent teaching. Our graduates compete well with their peers for both further education and employment rate.
