The Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy is a classical higher educational establishment of European level, an educational and research facility, one of the country's centres of education, science, culture and spirituality. A vital integral part of the University activities is the scientific and research work performed to integrate the scientific, educational and production activities within higher education. This work is of utmost importance and is maintained by the University through the functioning of 8 scientific-research institutes and scientific-research centres, seven scientific-research laboratories, four specialized academic councils for the defence of doctoral and candidate dissertations, 15 scientific schools, the scientific library and the centre for youth innovations that work on broadening the horizons of today and envisaging the future. Traditionally, the University hosts the all-Ukrainian scientific conference for young scientists entitled «Topical Issues of Natural and Humanitarian Sciences Researched by Young Scientists» with up 650 participants representing the undergraduate and graduate students. The best students continue their education at the University's postgraduate courses, other higher educational institutions, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Europe, the USA, and Singapore. At the Cherkasy National University, eight educational-scientific institutes and two faculties, eight scientific-research institutes and scientific-research centres, seven scientific-research laboratories and 15 scientific schools, a scientific library and the Centre for Youth Innovations work on expanding the horizons of today and shaping the future. Education in the Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy is actively integrating into the international community. The opportunities for internship for teachers, student exchange, obtaining information from foreign countries in planning, organizing, and implementing the educational processes are expanded. The foreign policy of Ukraine, some of the highest priorities of which are European integration and strategic partnership with the United States, is most actively supported by the university through the further establishing of new contacts and ties with the universities of the former Soviet Union, the European Union, and the United States and giving these relations concrete meaning. International recognition of the Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University in Cherkasy as one of the leaders of the national education network is also confirmed by the fact that about 100 famous universities of the world are collaborating with the university under long-term agreements, and in general we maintain educational, scientific, cultural relations with 100 foreign universities. Given the role and place of Ukraine in the international arena, we are useful both in western and eastern science and education policy, seeking consolidation of the positions of the university in all possible directions: the Center for European and Euro-Atlantic integration is functioning in the university in the Institute of Foreign Languages where English, German, French, Polish, Spanish and Russian are taught Cherkasy National University joined the Eurasian Association of Universities and the Black Sea Universities Network which bring together the most potent universities of the regions and where we are equal among equals. The Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University in Cherkasy's graduates are competitive.
