Offering a stunning campus setting, Caldwell University is only a short walk from town. Students find shops, coffee houses, restaurants, a movie theatre, and anything else a student could want. Another advantage of Caldwell University's location is its proximity to New York City, just 20 minutes away. Our students use New York City to learn, engage in internships and shadowing opportunities, experience cultural events, shop, or catch a game. Hopping on a bus takes you to lots of great sites in New Jersey, too. A short ride offers a great selection, from the Meadowlands arena to the Prudential Center. In just an hour, the Jersey shore.No matter your interest, Caldwell University offers you experiences beyond the classroom. The College's most popular offerings include undergraduate degrees in business, psychology, and education. Caldwell offers 30 undergraduate degrees and 30 graduate and certificate programs, including our doctoral program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the first in New Jersey. Caldwell is an autism education leader, a scientific discipline known to help children with autism spectrum disorders. The College's state-of-the-art autism center benefits children with autism and their families in New Jersey. To better focus on the desire to excel in math and science teaching, Caldwell University used nearly $2 million in federal grants to help establish the Center for Excellence for Teaching. The College renovated the biology, physics, and chemistry labs, and expanded classroom technology resources across the campus. The Center serves as a regional hub to implement innovative teacher preparation programs, emphasizing the effective use of classroom technology, the refinement of math and science training, and special education teacher training, including developing programs for disadvantaged students. Caldwell University has developed programs designed to address current job demands while reducing costs for students. Our stimulus package of programs lets you earn degrees sooner than the competition and prepares you for professions that satisfy our community's needs. We call them Power Degrees. Caldwell University enrolls approximately 2,200 full-time, part-time, and graduate students. Fully qualified faculty members, small class sizes, and a 12:1 student/faculty ratio provide a close, personal attention. Over 40 percent of full-time students live on campus. Single, double, and a few quad rooms are available. Dominican Hall, a 200-bed, apartment-style residence, is state-of-the-art, with modern suites, kitchens, and wireless Internet capability. The food service features extended hours and an expanded menu, with both American and international food selections. All students may have a car on campus. A variety of clubs and organizations are available. Campus Ministry provides an array of opportunities for students to reach out, including volunteer experiences at a soup kitchen, feeding the homeless in New York City, and rebuilding homes in Appalachia. An on-campus fitness center, equipped with cardiovascular equipment, provides students with exercise opportunities. University fields 15 NCAA Division II teams. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, tennis, track, and field. Women's sports include basketball, bowling, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and sponsors.
