  1. LEARN passionately. THINK critically. ACT responsibly. LEAD with integrity. It is who we are, what we teach, how we guide our students and the philosophy that inspires us each day at Brownell Talbot School. Our expectations are high, but they only reflect the incredible strengths and talents of our students. We are located in the city's heart, right next to Memorial Park in the Happy Hollow and Dundee neighborhood. For more than 150 years, Brownell Talbot has been the school of choice for families who understand the lifelong benefits of a quality, comprehensive education. As Nebraska's only private, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school, we seek to enroll students in grades preschool through 12 who have the motivation to succeed. The potential to thrive. The curiosity to make the most of what they learn within this challenging environment. Brownell Talbot is a safe, caring community dedicated to academic excellence and preparing students for college and life success. Through experiences in academics, activities, and the arts, students learn passionately, think critically, act responsibly, and lead with integrity. We value integrity, self-discipline, and each person's inherent dignity. Our community challenges each student to endlessly strive to reach their potential through exploration, understanding, and development of the creative, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and social self. Through an appreciation of the United States and its role in the global community, students will become responsible leaders and stewards of their community, country, and world. By offering a comprehensive, challenging education backed by a thoughtful approach, we will: Foster self-awareness and achievement consistent with each student's abilities, interests, and talents. Implement a rigorous curriculum that develops critical thinking and decision-making and prepares students for success in a rapidly changing world. Promote core ethical values as the foundation of good character based on the School's Points of Pride. Instill in students a selfless desire to serve their community. Attract and retain outstanding faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Establish a school community based on mutual respect and appreciation of differences. Want to know what sets us apart? Start with our students. At Brownell Talbot, we embrace students' inner strengths and talents, nurturing their passions, inspiring their curiosity, and building their confidence. By encouraging our students to learn passionately, think critically, act responsibly, and lead with integrity, we can help them reach their fullest potential. This goal is what drives our approach to education at all levels. It is what helps our students succeed. It forms the foundation for the impressive statistics set us apart here in Omaha and across the country. It is what makes us different. Our dedicated faculty members work hard to uncover each student's strengths early on, paving the way for a successful academic career. Through small class sizes, low student-instructor ratios, and enthusiastic faculty, we can cultivate a supportive environment and a lifelong love of learning. Our students are exposed to a learning environment that develops critical thinking during crucial developmental years. They watch, learn, grow, and develop global thinking through a lens that fosters diversity and possibility, alongside a challenging curriculum that becomes a routine and anticipated part of their daily experience. We offer students the challenges, independence, and responsibility they need to think for themselves and act intelligently, in and outside of school. This level of trust results in more confident, mature, and respectful students and adults. Brownell Talbot has a 100-percent college placement among our seniors. SAT and ACT scores are higher on average than any district in the Omaha metropolitan area. We provide opportunities parents will not find anywhere else - from a rigorous curriculum, international travel, and summer enrichment to community service programs and beyond. By teaching students the importance of setting and achieving goals and the value of character, we prepare students to navigate the world with stewardship and success. At Brownell Talbot, we differentiate ourselves by offering a rigorous college-prep curriculum within the context of a nurturing, supportive environment. When this structured approach is combined with fine and performing arts, world language, and physical education, students receive the comprehensive, customized experience they need to flourish personally, grow intellectually, and move forward with a level of confidence required for long-term success. No matter how they choose to shape their Brownell Talbot experience and what they aim to accomplish in the years ahead, students leave our school ready for college. Ready for life. Ready to make their mark.
