      1. Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn is the North Wales regional center of excellence for teaching children on the autistic spectrum. Our pupils come from all over North Wales - most travels in daily but some take advantage of our residential facility, Gerddi Glasfryn. We are very proud of our school and we aim to provide a happy and nurturing environment where all pupils can achieve their full potential. We take the school’s vision “the best you can be – Y gorau y Gelli for” very seriously and this vision permeates the ethos of the school across all its sites. At Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn we believe that we can only achieve the best for your child by close co-operation between home and school. Without parental involvement, our task will be without a doubt made more difficult. Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn strives to achieve its aims through a strong partnership between governors, staff, pupils, and parents. The creation of a first-class special school environment and a center of excellence for Autism. The promotion of inclusion and integration. The provision of a range of high-quality education and care services for pupils with autism. As far as possible the provision of all services in both Welsh and English. The promotion of debate, training, and research about the education and care of children with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn is a local authority that maintained co-educational special schools for pupils with ASC and associated learning difficulties from the age of 3 to 19. We have a 38-week residential facility that is open Monday to Friday. The majority of the children/young people are from English-speaking families. For most children/young people, Welsh is taught as a second language however, education can be provided through the medium of Welsh if requested by the family and detailed in the Statement of Special Educational Needs. The majority of the children/young people are boys due to the higher prevalence of autism in males. Due to the nature of the pupils, the school also uses alternative methods of communication such as Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Makaton, and communication aids. View full school
