- Ysgol Bodfari is nestled at the foot of the Clwydian Range in the picturesque village of Bodfari, 3 miles from Denbigh and 5 miles from St Asaph. We are a small rural school and pride ourselves in having a caring, family-orientated outlook, firmly believing that children do not learn unless they feel happy and secure. Although primarily an English medium school, we are committed to promoting the language and culture of Wales and all our children learn Welsh as a second language. Children are often taught in small groups or individually and it is our aim that each child is given the utmost help and motivation to achieve their potential. The school is very well resourced for all subject areas including a computer suite and fabulous outdoor play areas. Free school transport is available to children who live in Tremeirchion, Afonwen, or within the outer reaches of our catchment area. Please ask in school for more information. For busy working parents we can offer excellent 'wrap around care'. This includes a breakfast club which opens at 8 am, Playgroup sessions, and After School Club which runs until 5.30 pm. Busy Bods at Ysgol Bodfari is a new childcare facility run by well-qualified staff. We provide an all-inclusive, safe and caring environment for your children where education, well-being, and play go hand in hand. We will give individual attention to every child. We share the same values as the school and work closely with its teaching staff. Although we are primarily English speaking, we thoroughly embrace our Welsh culture and speak Welsh incidentally throughout the day. Busy Bods at Ysgol Bodfari is registered with CSSIW. We use the following in our nursery, after school, and holiday clubs. Playgroup– Using learning to share with friends, explore and play games. Developing important skills. Nursery– Gaining confidence and independence. Preparation for school. Outdoor Play Areas– plenty of space to run around and play games. Cookery - Learning about healthy foods and how to cook them. Gardening- Working as a team to grow foods and flowers. Learning to love and care for the environment. Homework- Using the school’s computers and tablets to research homework topics.
